About the role
FP&AComplianceRisk ManagementCommunication
Hello. We’re Teya.
Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.
They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.
Teya exists to change that.
We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.
We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.
If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you
Your Mission
We are looking for a Head of Capital and Liquidity Planning to lead Teya’s first-line prudential framework and help ensure that our growth is supported by robust capital, liquidity and risk management.
Reporting to the CFO, you will own the practical delivery of Teya’s prudential agenda across capital adequacy, liquidity adequacy, stress testing, ICAAP, ILAAP and contingency planning. You will work closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Product and Operations to turn prudential requirements into clear decisions, effective controls and usable management information.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable moving between strategic judgement and detailed analysis. You will help the business understand its prudential position, anticipate emerging risks and make well-informed decisions about growth, funding, products and resilience. You will act as the key liaison between Treasury and FP&A, owning capital and liquidity regulatory calculations within forecasting models and ensuring that prudential considerations are embedded in planning.\
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve Teya’s first-line prudential framework, including capital, liquidity, risk appetite, stress testing and contingency planning.
- Lead or coordinate the ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery and Resolution Plan (RRP) and Solvent Wind Down Plan (SWDP), ensuring that each reflects the business model, risk profile, forward plan and realistic management actions.
- Act as the key liaison between Treasury and FP&A, owning capital and liquidity regulatory and internal EWI / KRI calculations in forecasting models.
- Run the ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP and SWDP through relevant governance committees, coordinating across Risk, Finance, Product, Commercial, Treasury and Compliance.
- Produce clear analysis and recommendations for the CFO, senior leadership and relevant governance forums, to facilitate decision making on trade-offs.
- Establish forward-looking monitoring of capital and liquidity positions, headroom, triggers, concentrations, funding needs and stress outcomes.
- Work with Product, Commercial, Operations, Finance and Risk on new products, material changes and growth initiatives, ensuring prudential impacts and controls are understood before scale-up.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of total experience in prudential risk, capital, liquidity, regulatory reporting, Treasury, Finance or a closely related discipline within a regulated financial services environment.
- 6–8 years of experience contributing to and leading or coordinating one or, ideally, more of bank ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery and Resolution Plans (RRP) and Solvent Wind Down Plans (SWDP).
- Expert-level understanding of current and evolving regulatory expectations for capital and liquidity adequacy assessment processes in the UK, and preferably in EU jurisdictions too.
- Commercial sensitivity and judgement to optimise risk-adjusted returns on capital and liquidity while staying within — and, where needed, influencing — risk appetite and control design.
- Strong practical knowledge of capital and liquidity adequacy, stress testing, recovery and resolution planning, solvent wind-down planning and contingency actions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the judgement to identify what matters and communicate it clearly to senior stakeholders.
- A control-minded approach: you care about data quality, evidence, governance and follow-through, not just the final number.
- The confidence to challenge constructively, influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across functions.
- Experience working through periods of major change or bank builds is a plus.
- The ability to work in a dynamic, technology-driven organisation with multiple product lines, different jurisdictions and evolving governance structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience in payments, e-money, banking, lending or another technology-enabled regulated financial services business.
- Experience working with UK and/or European prudential regulators and regulatory submissions.
- Experience building or enhancing prudential frameworks during periods of significant organisational or regulatory change.
What this role offers
- The opportunity to shape a critical first-line capability at a growing financial services business.
- Direct exposure to the CFO and senior leadership, with the opportunity to influence strategic decisions.
- A broad remit spanning capital, liquidity, governance and contingency planning.
- A collaborative, international environment where people are encouraged to take ownership and make things better.
- A role with visible impact on Teya’s resilience and on the small businesses we serve.
The Perks
- We trust you, so we offer flexible working hours, as long as it suits both you and your team.
- Physical and mental health support through our partnership with WellHub, giving free access to over 1,500 gyms in the UK, 1-1 therapy, meditation sessions, and digital fitness and nutrition apps.
- Our company offers extended and improved maternity and paternity leave choices, giving employees more flexibility and support.
- Cycle-to-Work Scheme. • Health and Life Insurance.
- Pension Scheme.
- 25 days of Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays).
- Office snacks every day.
- Friendly, comfortable, and informal office environment in Central London.
