About the role
TypeScriptJavaScriptObservability
Are you a software engineer who enjoys building high-performance TypeScript code? Would you like your code to operate across more than 7,000 publisher sites, reach hundreds of millions of monthly unique visitors, and directly impact meaningful revenue?
Raptive is hiring a Software Engineer II to join our Ad Code Core Engineering team. You’ll help build and evolve the technology that powers advertising across our publishers’ sites, working on challenging engineering problems at significant scale and contributing across different areas of our AdTech product.
We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with a sense of ownership, a passion for learning, and an AI-forward approach to software development.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Build and evolve high-performance JavaScript and TypeScript libraries that run in browsers across thousands of publisher sites.
- Develop advertising features and integrations that operate at significant scale, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Independently deliver moderately complex features and technical improvements, working through ambiguity, evaluating technical approaches, and collaborating with teammates when needed.
- Take ownership of your work beyond writing code, proactively following it through development, testing, release, measurement, and iteration.
- Work with Product, Engineering, Quality, Data, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, communicate progress and risks, and make informed technical decisions.
- Use AI as an integral part of your engineering workflow to improve development speed and quality, while applying sound judgment about when, how, and which AI tools to use.
- Continuously explore and adopt new AI tools, capabilities, and workflows to improve your effectiveness as an engineer.
- Work across different areas of our AdTech product as priorities evolve, sometimes balancing multiple projects or responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Apply strong engineering practices around maintainability, testing, performance, observability, and documentation.
- Understand the business outcomes behind the features you build, use data to help evaluate their impact, and contribute ideas for technical, product, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with other engineers through code review, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU BRING:
- Solid professional experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and modern software development practices.
- A passion for writing maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code, with an understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Strong experience integrating AI into day-to-day software development, with a demonstrated commitment to staying current with rapidly evolving AI tools, capabilities, and engineering practices.
- Ability to independently deliver moderately complex work, navigate technical challenges, and make sound implementation decisions.
- Good understanding of web technologies, including browser behavior, performance, debugging, and web APIs.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability, including proactively communicating progress, identifying blockers and risks, and following work through to completion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts, work effectively with teammates, and engage with stakeholders.
- Experience applying software design patterns and engineering best practices to build maintainable, reliable solutions.
- Ability to understand business objectives and consider impact, effort, risk, and maintainability when making engineering decisions.
- Experience independently developing and delivering features or technical improvements from implementation through release.
- Experience working in AdTech or a strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem. Experience with technologies such as header bidding, Prebid.js, Google Ad Manager, identity, regulatory, or programmatic advertising is a plus.
