Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.
Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.
ŌURA is scaling fast, and Accounting's transformation work is racing to keep up — that's where you come in. As Senior Manager, Finance Transformation, you'll turn a fragmented set of systems requests, close and control needs, and process-improvement work into one prioritized, governed roadmap, with real, visible impact on how a newly public company operates. You'll be the connective tissue between Accounting, Business Systems/IT, and external partners — building the operating cadence, prioritization framework, and governance that let Accounting make clear trade-offs and move the highest-value work forward, with direct exposure to senior leadership. ŌURA is a hyper-growth environment — this role calls for agility and a practical, disciplined approach.Reporting to the Finance Transformation Lead, this role partners closely with Accounting leadership and Business Systems, with strong ties to external advisors supporting SOX readiness and close acceleration.
This is a remote role based in the US.
What You Will Do:
Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
- Act as a trusted, collaborative partner across Accounting, Business Systems/IT, FP&A, and external advisors — flexing communication style and depth by audience, from technical detail with operators to decision-ready framing for leadership.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and build alignment behind the scenes, keeping discussions on track and surfacing decisions before they hit leadership forums — especially when priorities conflict.
- Serve as the primary Accounting partner for IT triage — translating incidents, enhancement requests, and defects into well-scoped tickets, severity assessments, and business impact statements — and partner with Business Systems on requirements, prioritization, testing, and release readiness for NetSuite and connected finance tools (e.g., Zip, FloQast, Workiva).
- Establish a clear triage/escalation process so urgent close, reporting, and control-impacting issues are tracked to resolution across both Accounting and IT.
- Coordinate external consultants and implementation partners toward sustainable, internally-owned outcomes.
Portfolio Management & Governance
- Own the project-management discipline for the Finance Transformation portfolio: integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, RAID tracking, decision logs, and escalation.
- Build and maintain the dashboards and tracking tools that give leadership and stakeholders self-serve visibility into status.
- Consolidate active transformation, systems, and process-improvement work into one prioritized, tiered portfolio with clear owners and expected outcomes.
- Prepare concise, decision-oriented updates for leadership that surface trade-offs, blockers, and decisions needed.
- Establish and track key operating metrics (e.g., cycle times, remediation progress, portfolio health) to give leadership ongoing visibility into transformation impact.
SOX Readiness & Controls
- Convert control gaps, substantive errors, and audit observations into prioritized remediation plans with clear owners, due dates, and evidence requirements — and drive root-cause analysis so recurring errors get durable fixes.
- Partner with control owners across close, reporting, and systems to sequence remediation based on risk, supporting SOX Year 1 readiness and broader public company reporting requirements.
- Close Acceleration & Process Improvement
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve close cadence, reconciliation quality, and visibility into period-end risk across multiple entities.
- Build repeatable mechanisms for tracking close blockers, root causes, and remediation progress.
First-Year Success Measures
- One prioritized portfolio, built on a shared People-Process-Technology framework: transformation work lives in a single view, with each item tied to a clear problem, priority tier, owner, and expected outcome.
- SOX and control readiness: high-risk control gaps and remediation plans have clear ownership, evidence expectations, and escalation paths supporting SOX Year 1 and public company reporting readiness.
- Sustainable operating improvements: priority initiatives produce measurable gains in close execution, control quality, or cycle time — backed by a track record as a trusted, collaborative partner across Accounting, IT, and external advisors.
What you'll bring
- You have 9+ years of progressive experience in finance transformation, accounting operations, internal audit, finance systems, or process improvement, including leading cross-functional projects.
- You bring strong project/program management skills — integrated planning, dependency management, risk/issue escalation, and executive reporting. PMP or equivalent a plus.
- You have solid accounting fluency (close, reconciliations, journal entries, controls) and can translate business needs into system and process requirements.
- You've partnered with IT/Business Systems on intake, incident triage, prioritization, and release management.
- You've worked with SOX, internal controls, or financial reporting risk remediation in a public-company or late-stage pre-IPO environment.
- You're comfortable in a dynamic, hyper-growth environment — practical and feasible-first rather than rigid, and quick to adjust as priorities shift.
- You're a trusted, collaborative partner across finance, IT, and external stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal communication — able to flex style and depth by audience and facilitate meetings productively when priorities conflict. Experience building or rebuilding a team or function is a plus.
- You have hands-on NetSuite experience; exposure to multi-entity, international operations (intercompany, FX, consolidation) is a plus.
- You hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Systems; CPA preferred.
