We are seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to support complex product initiatives focused on privacy, responsibility, data ethics, and trust and safety.
This role requires a strategic product marketer who can operate at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, and Marketing. The ideal candidate brings strong product strategy experience, demonstrated success influencing product roadmaps, and the ability to translate technical and regulatory considerations into actionable product recommendations.
While go to market strategy and positioning are important, this position requires someone who has directly partnered with Product Management and Engineering to influence product decisions, shape priorities, and drive meaningful product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap Influence
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to influence product strategy, roadmap priorities, and product development decisions.
- Translate customer insights, market intelligence, competitive trends, and regulatory considerations into actionable product recommendations.
- Identify product opportunities, gaps, and risks, advocating for improvements that support customer needs and business objectives.
- Build compelling business cases and strategic recommendations to influence product and engineering leadership.
- Navigate competing priorities and build alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
Cross Functional Leadership
- Drive collaboration across Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Communications, and Marketing.
- Influence senior leaders and cross functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Develop strategic frameworks and recommendations that guide product and marketing decisions.
- Communicate complex technical, privacy, and responsibility concepts to executive, technical, and external audiences.
Product Marketing and Go to Market Execution
- Develop and execute go to market strategies for products operating in highly regulated or policy driven environments.
- Own product positioning, messaging, and strategic narratives for complex product initiatives.
- Translate technical capabilities and product developments into compelling value propositions.
- Support product launches, stakeholder communications, and strategic marketing initiatives.
- Incorporate customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends into product and marketing strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product marketing, including meaningful product strategy and cross functional leadership responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Demonstrated experience partnering directly with Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmaps, feature prioritization, or product direction.
- Proven ability to translate market research, customer insights, or regulatory requirements into product recommendations that were adopted or implemented.
- Experience influencing product and engineering stakeholders, including senior leadership, without direct reporting authority.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to independently drive complex initiatives in ambiguous environments.
- Experience developing and executing go to market strategies for complex technical products.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build consensus and coordinate initiatives involving multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Product marketing experience in privacy, trust and safety, responsible AI, data ethics, or related domains.
- Background in advertising technology, digital advertising, measurement, signal loss, or privacy enhancing technologies.
- Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, Digital Services Act, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience marketing technical products to B2B audiences, advertisers, developers, or partners.
- Experience influencing products involving data transparency, consent management, or responsible data practices.
- Exposure to crisis communications or reputation management involving privacy or trust.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve marketing efficiency and execution.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate specific examples of influencing product development, rather than solely managing product launches or marketing programs.
Candidates should be able to explain how they:
- Identified a customer, market, or regulatory need that required a product change.
- Collaborated directly with Product Management and Engineering to advocate for that change.
- Influenced roadmap priorities, product functionality, or development decisions.
- Built alignment among cross functional teams and senior stakeholders.
