Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Fredericksburg Christian Health Center | Fredericksburg, Virginia | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, Daytime Hours About FCHC Fredericksburg Christian Health Center is a faith-based primary care and behavioral health clinic serving the Fredericksburg community from two sites. Position Summary FCHC is seeking a dedicated LPN or RN to provide direct patient care and support clinical operations at both of our sites. This is a full-time, weekday position with regular daytime hours: no weekends, no rotating shifts, no nights, and no on-call. Many of our patients come to us during vulnerable moments in their lives. As one of their first points of contact, you will help make sure every visit reflects both clinical excellence and genuine compassion, while keeping a schedule that leaves room for your own life and family. Who We’re Looking For - Mission-driven: motivated by faith-based, community-centered healthcare and comfortable working in a Christian ministry environment - Dependable: reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to go the extra mile for patients and colleagues - Team-focused: ready to work closely with clinical and administrative staff, support one another, and put patients first Key Responsibilities - Greet and room patients; collect vital signs, brief history, and chief complaint - Reconcile and update medications, problem lists, and other pertinent health information in the EHR - Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as ordered by providers - Assist providers with in-office procedures, including pelvic exams/Pap smears and skin biopsies - Monitor patient condition and promptly report changes to the care team - Educate patients and families on managing their health and self-care - Relay test results and provider messages by phone and patient portal, and respond to patient concerns within scope of licensure - Coordinate with pharmacies and insurers to process orders, clarify prescriptions, and complete prior authorizations - Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record - Uphold infection control, safety, and HIPAA/privacy standards at all times - Cover both clinic sites as needed Qualifications Required - Current, unencumbered LPN or RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia - Current BLS/CPR certification - Strong communication skills and the ability to serve a diverse patient population with compassion and respect - Ability to prioritize, manage time, and stay organized in a fast-paced setting - Discretion and professionalism with confidential information - Support for FCHC’s Christian, faith-based mission and values Preferred - For LPN candidates: 6–12 months of LPN experience - Experience in primary care, community health, or another outpatient setting - Experience in acute care, behavioral health, pediatrics, or phlebotomy - Familiarity with Epic or a similar EHR; knowledge of ICD-10 coding - ACLS certification - Bilingual in Spanish and English What We Offer - A predictable schedule: Monday through Friday, regular business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with Extended hours until 6:00 pm every other Thursday) - No weekends, no nights, no shift work, and no on call - Meaningful work serving a community that needs you, on a mission-driven team - Competitive pay based on licensure and experience - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Paid time off and paid holidays - IRA retirement plan - A supportive, faith-centered culture that values every team member If you are an LPN or RN looking to step away from hospital shifts and weekend rotations without stepping away from meaningful patient care, we would love to hear from you.
