Founding Product Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join an early-stage energy technology team building an enterprise platform for energy procurement and cost optimization. You will work closely with customers and company leadership to turn complex market and operational needs into practical software. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own product features from discovery and design through implementation and deployment. - Work with customers to translate objectives into clear requirements and iterative solutions. - Build performant backend services for data-intensive applications and intuitive interfaces for complex decision-support workflows. - Develop time-series forecasts for energy consumption and renewable generation. - Create linear optimization algorithms to help reduce energy costs. - Help shape the product and engineering stack, including PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and Python. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 2 years of software engineering experience building scalable web applications in an early-stage startup environment. - Experience independently delivering complete product features in collaboration with customers. - Strong software engineering fundamentals, with experience across backend services and frontend interfaces for complex decision-support systems. - Fluent spoken and written German. - Experience with PostgreSQL, React, and Python is valued; TypeScript, FastAPI, and Supabase experience is also useful. - Hands-on experience or strong interest in time-series forecasting and linear optimization, plus curiosity about energy markets and data-intensive business applications. - Evidence of strong fit for a founding product engineering role, such as early-stage startup experience or a generalist engineering background. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: €85,000 to €140,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION Hybrid, based in Munich, Germany. The role is on-site the majority of the week, with occasional remote work flexibility.
