Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight and leadership for multiple commercial construction projects, ensuring successful delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
- Champion Origin Construction's standards for quality, client service, safety, financial performance, and operational excellence across all assigned projects.
- Lead preconstruction efforts in partnership with the estimating team, including budgeting, value engineering, procurement strategies, and RFP responses.
- Negotiate and execute owner contracts, major purchase agreements, and key project-related business terms.
- Serve as the executive sponsor for project teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to Project Managers and field leadership.
- Establish clear project goals, roles, responsibilities, and accountability measures for project personnel.
- Monitor project financial performance, schedules, staffing plans, risk exposure, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist project teams in resolving complex client, subcontractor, design, schedule, and commercial issues.
- Ensure company processes, procedures, reporting standards, and best practices are consistently implemented across all projects.
- Drive successful project closeout, including financial reconciliation, final documentation, client turnover, and lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, brokers, and the subcontractor community.
- Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships, generating repeat business, and identifying new opportunities.
- Contribute to strategic planning, operational improvements, and the continued growth of Origin Construction.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction with a general contractor, including significant project management and leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience overseeing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of contracts, project financial management, budgeting, risk management, scheduling, and project delivery methods.
- Advanced ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong knowledge of current market conditions, subcontractor relationships, pricing trends, and procurement strategies.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and construction management technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
