*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
What You'll Do
- Set Lambda's contracting and supply chain standards — SOPs, playbooks, approval matrix, delegation of authority, master supply, general contractor, and design agreement templates, clause library, and commercial negotiation frameworks
- Lead master agreements and their commercial terms — pricing structures, payment terms, capacity reservations, warranties, liquidated damages, and performance security — in alignment with category managers, who own the sourcing strategy and supplier relationships
- Lead negotiation of terms and conditions — liability caps, indemnities, insurance, change, suspension, and termination — and assess and allocate commercial risk on every agreement
- Serve as the direct liaison to Legal and outside counsel — framing issues, coordinating reviews, and driving agreements to execution
- Be the go-to expert for interpreting terms and conditions across Lambda's contract portfolio, advising Construction, Sourcing, Finance, and project teams on rights, obligations, and remedies
- Own claims, and disputes across construction and equipment contracts — evaluate entitlement and schedule and cost impact, negotiate resolution, and escalate with Legal and outside counsel when needed
- Own contract obligation tracking — milestones, notices, warranties, capacity commitments, LDs, and renewal dates — and keep contract data and records current
- Own supplier onboarding — vetting, sanctions and denied-party screening, insurance and certification requirements, tariffs, and import and export controls
- Keep the supply chain and contracts function audit-ready — documented controls, approval evidence, contract records, and compliance with internal policy and external requirements
- Set dashboard and reporting standards for contracts, spend, supplier, and compliance data, and deliver regular reporting to leadership
- Roll out procurement standards and training at every site so project and site teams follow consistent processes for purchasing, approvals, and contract use
- Secure approvals for deviations from Lambda's standards, and prepare clear negotiation summaries and recommendations for executives
- Continuously improve contracting and procurement efficiency through lessons learned, standardization, and contract lifecycle management and procurement tools
You
- Have 7+ years of contracts or commercial management on large capital projects, with deep experience in construction and equipment contracts
- Have datacenter or mission-critical experience, or extensive experience in oil and gas, energy, or other complex construction and equipment programs
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or a related field, or have equivalent experience
- Have personally negotiated master supply agreements with deep command of terms and conditions and their commercial impact
- Have owned claims, and disputes through resolution and tracked contract obligations through closeout
- Have built master agreement templates, clause libraries, SOPs, playbooks, or approval matrices that an organization adopted
- Have owned supply chain compliance — supplier onboarding, trade compliance, audit readiness, and procurement controls
- Have set reporting standards and built dashboards for contract, spend, or compliance data, and trained teams across multiple sites on procurement processes
- Have served as the primary business liaison to in-house Legal and outside counsel, and know where commercial ownership ends and legal review begins
- Communicate clearly in writing and in the room, and can explain commercial risk and trade-offs to executives
- Operate well in ambiguity, on compressed timelines, managing several high-value negotiations at once
Nice to Have
- Experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud, colocation provider, datacenter developer, or large EPC or general contractor
- Paralegal experience, a JD, or a construction law background
- Experience implementing contract lifecycle management (CLM) or procurement systems
- Experience with SOX or internal audit controls, or trade compliance certification (e.g., CCS)
- Experience standing up a contracts or commercial function in a high-growth company
