Senior Traffic Engineer - Rail

This role combines traffic engineering expertise with railroad coordination and project delivery across complex transportation projects. You will work on initiatives involving Class I railroads, state DOTs, local agencies, and other consultants to improve safety and mobility. The position offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in rail traffic engineering, traffic signal preemption, and grade crossing safety. You will balance technical design responsibilities with project coordination, client interaction, and ownership of project delivery activities. Your work will include site visits, traffic and preemption analysis, plan and study preparation, and collaboration on multifaceted projects. The role provides a pathway toward technical leadership within a specialized transportation engineering discipline. Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings is expected, creating opportunities for hands-on engagement with projects and stakeholders.
