Manager, Maintenance Operations Engineer

Job Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director, Highway Maintenance: - Serves as supervisor/coordinator of the RCOC maintenance headquarters staff and its activities. - Provides expertise and instruction in the proper methods/materials used in maintenance operations and assist in the budgetary control of operations. - Makes independent decisions based on RCOC board policies. - Must stay abreast of new techniques and procedures related to highway maintenance operations. - May serve occasionally as Director of Highway Maintenance in the Director’s absence, including attending Board meetings. - Frequently addresses concerns from citizens and community officials. - Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the road commission for Oakland County. - Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation. - Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.   Special Experience / Education: - A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or degree in a similar field, from an accredited college or university. - A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in managing highway construction and design/maintenance operations, which involves the supervision of employees. - A Professional Engineer (PE) license from the State of Michigan, is preferred. - Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License is required.    Disclaimer: - Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid Driver's License. - Attractive benefits package: - Hybrid Pension, including Employer Match 401(a) - Up to 31 days of paid time off, plus 14 Paid Holidays - Medical Insurance - Employer Paid Dental Insurance - Vision Insurance - Employer Paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance - Employer Paid Telemedicine - EOE/ADA/Drug Free Workplace.
