About the role
ExcelHRIS
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.
Role Purpose
In this early-career role, you will join LA28's Workforce Integration team, which manages guild, union, and collective bargaining agreement matters for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workforce Integration, you will work as a production coordinator does: keeping schedules, trackers, and reports accurate and moving labor questions from across LA28 to resolution. Because contractors will deliver much of the Games, you will help teams plan for third-party agreements by applying guidance from Employment Legal, Government Affairs, and site operators.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate labor inquiries from LA28 teams, applying approved guidance and elevating novel or high-risk matters with a recommendation.
· Lead guild and union coordination meetings with site operators and signatory employers, documenting determinations by site and scope.
· Maintain the guild and union coverage database, operating calendar, and regular labor status report.
· Review crew schedules against rules on call times, meal periods, turnaround, and overtime, and maintain rate sheets.
· Lead assigned labor planning initiatives and respond on site to guild and union issues during the Games.
Required Competencies
· Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of equivalent experience in productions, studios, entertainment payroll, or labor offices under guild or union agreements.
· Practical awareness of how guilds and unions shape a workday: call times, meal penalties, turnaround, overtime, and who performs which work.
· Accurate paperwork under deadline, such as call sheets, production reports, start paperwork, deal memos, timecards, or crew lists.
· Clear, concise writing, confident communication at every level, and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and comfort collaborating in shared trackers.
Valued Experience
· Production office or on-set experience on signatory productions.
· Experience as a production coordinator, DGA trainee, or union payroll coordinator.
· Familiarity with the DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, and the Teamsters.
· Coursework in film and television, labor relations, or public policy.
· Demonstrated interest in a labor relations career.
What We Offer
· Training on the guild and union agreements governing Olympic and Paralympic work.
· Firsthand exposure to how LA28 staffs and operates Games venues.
· Daily collaboration with Employment Legal, Government Affairs, site operators, and signatory employers.
· A foundation for a lasting career in labor relations and workforce standards.
What This Role Means for the Games
Like a production, the Games must be delivered on time and on budget. By giving LA28 teams one consistent answer on labor questions, you will help operations remain on schedule while reflecting LA28's values of integrity, co-creation, and excellence.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
· Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
· The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
· The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
· Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
· Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
· In-person attendance and regular regional travel to venues and partner sites are required, with possible venue-based or operations-center shifts at Games time.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,500 - $82,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
