Director, Government and External Affairs

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Government and External Affairs based in Canada. The Director, Government and External Affairs will lead government relations and policy advocacy initiatives to advance strategic business objectives within Canada's evolving renewable energy sector. The role focuses on federal and provincial engagement, with initial priorities across Alberta, Newfoundland, Ontario, Quebec, and federal institutions. You will build influential relationships with government officials, Indigenous communities, industry associations, and other key stakeholders to shape policies supporting clean energy development. Working cross-functionally with communications, regulatory, development, and commercial teams, you will help drive coordinated external affairs strategies and mitigate policy-related risks. This leadership position offers the opportunity to influence energy policy, strengthen industry partnerships, and contribute to the growth of renewable energy infrastructure. You will also oversee external consultants, provide strategic policy insights, and represent the organization in high-level discussions and industry forums.
