Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the country in which the role is being hired. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Mark43’s mission is to empower communities and their governments with new technologies that improve the safety and quality of life for all. We build powerful, scalable, and elegant software that sets a new standard for the tools upon which first responders rely. Our users are diverse, and we are committed to embracing diversity of thought and experience within our team.
We are looking for a seasoned product leader to lead Mark43’s product strategy and organisation in the UK. As Director of Product, UKk, you will own the product vision and roadmap for the market, developing a deep understanding of UK policing and public safety, our users, and the market while translating those insights into a clear product strategy.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning Product and Design and serve as a key connection point between our UK customers, the market, and Mark43 teams globally. This role calls for someone who can move comfortably between setting long-term strategy, developing people, engaging directly with customers, and working alongside teams to solve complex product challenges. Most importantly, you will ensure the team executes, turning strategy and customer insight into clear priorities, high-quality products, and measurable outcomes for our customers and the business.
What You’ll Do
If you were part of our team, here are some things you might have done last week:
- Met with UK customers and frontline users to better understand their operational challenges, then translated those insights into priorities for our UK product roadmap.
- Worked with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to refine the vision and roadmap across Case, Custody, integrations, and other UK platform capabilities.
- Created clarity around priorities, removed obstacles, and held the team accountable for executing against commitments and delivering meaningful customer outcomes.
- Coached Product Managers and Designers through difficult product decisions, helping the team balance customer needs, market opportunities, technical considerations, and Mark43’s broader strategy.
- Partnered with Sales, Delivery, Customer Success, and other customer-facing teams to ensure our product strategy reflects what we are learning in the market.
- Presented our UK product direction to a customer or prospective customer and helped connect near-term investments to a compelling longer-term vision.
- Identified opportunities to use AI and other emerging technologies to meaningfully improve policing and public safety workflows while maintaining the trust, reliability, and usability required of mission-critical software.
- Worked with global Product and Engineering teams to determine which UK requirements should extend our core platform and where market-specific capabilities are needed.
- Built greater product knowledge across the UK team so that individuals can support one another across the platform, reducing single points of failure and creating room for people to grow.
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for an experienced product leader with a track record of leading complex software products and developing high-performing teams. You should have significant product management experience, including several years leading Product Managers and working closely with Design and Engineering.
You have demonstrated experience taking complex products from strategy through delivery and adoption. You are equally comfortable discussing a long-term market opportunity with an executive, exploring workflows with an end user, and working through product and technical trade-offs with a delivery team. You have a strong bias towards execution and know how to translate strategy into priorities, establish accountability, remove blockers, and keep teams focused on delivering results.
Experience with enterprise SaaS, government technology, policing, public safety, or similarly complex and regulated environments is highly valuable. Familiarity with AI-enabled products, data-rich workflows, or modern approaches to software design and development is also beneficial.
People who thrive on our team also tend to share the following characteristics:
- Customer and mission focused. You are energised by understanding complex users and solving problems that have meaningful consequences in the real world.
- Strategic and pragmatic. You can establish a compelling vision while recognising that great strategies only matter if teams can execute them.
- Humble, open, and curious. You seek out perspectives that challenge your own and create an environment where Product, Design, Engineering, customers, and other stakeholders can contribute to better decisions.
- A multiplier. You build strong teams, create clarity, share context freely, and help people grow rather than becoming the person through whom every decision must flow.
- Comfortable with complexity. You can bring structure to ambiguous problems and find a simple path through complicated workflows without oversimplifying the needs of our users.
This role is based in Manchester, with an expectation of working from our Manchester office three days per week. The role will also require regular engagement with customers and teams across the UK. Due to the nature of our work with UK policing, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain NPPV Level 3 (NPPV3) clearance.
