Background Investigator I

In this part-time, on-call role, you will conduct interviews, review relevant records, and gather information to assess individuals' backgrounds, reputations, character, suitability, and qualifications. You will engage with subjects, employers, references, associates, and other knowledgeable sources using virtual meetings, telephone calls, and occasional in-person interviews. Working with multiple digital tools and investigative systems, you will analyze information, resolve discrepancies, and prepare clear, well-organized investigative documentation. You will receive intensive virtual training, followed by hands-on shadowing and mentorship from experienced investigators to help you succeed. This remote opportunity offers the flexibility of part-time work while contributing to important federal security and public trust objectives.
