With over 27,000+ associates, it’s the largest software development center of Bosch, outside Germany, indicating that it is the Technology Powerhouse of Bosch in India with a global footprint and presence in the US, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Roles & Responsibilities : - Design 3D models and assemblies in commonly used CAD platforms. - Ensure bracket designs and fastening methods withstand automotive vibration, thermal cycling, and harsh operating environments. - Generate production-ready 2D design drawings with the relevant dimensions and tolerances. - Analyze packaging constraints, clearance limits, and access/ergonomic requirements within various vehicle compartments (e.g., engine bay, cabin, under body, boot space). - Apply clear understanding of DFMA and process capabilities (e.g., stamping, bending, CNC machining, laser cutting) to design cost-effective, easy-to-manufacture components. - Design, prototype, and release sheet metal, machined, and additive manufactured (3D-printed/rapid prototype) brackets to safely mount sensors and hardware in restricted spaces while adhering to automotive durability and dynamic loads. - Translate physical and technical integration requirements for automotive sensors (e.g., pressure, temperature, IMUs, speed, position) and data acquisition (DAQ) measurement hardware into mechanical mounting requirements. - Select and apply appropriate fasteners (e.g., rivets, weld nuts, clinching/PEM fasteners, bolts, and clips) and joint techniques suited for specific automotive sheet metal and machined joints. - Understand electrical schematics, translate them into harness preparation instructions. - Coordinate with local vendors for rapid prototyping (3D printing, sheet metal, machining and plastic parts). - Guide technicians integrating components on the car with work instructions and ensure adherence to best practices.   Educational qualification: - B.E. / B. Tech. in Mechanical Engg./Automotive Engg.Experience : - 5 - 7 yearsMandatory/required Skills : - Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and its application to product design. - Knowledge of failure mechanisms and mitigation measures for mechanical components of various metallic and non-metallic (polymer) materials. - Expertise in usage of one or more CAD tools (NX, Creo/ProE, CATIA, or SolidWorks) - Hands-on experience in mechanical integration of components on vehicles and coordination with other teams for electrical integration on vehicles. - Mechanical design and development of sheet metal parts, machined components, and custom mounting solutions tailored for automotive components. - Make flat pattern/unfolded views for sheet metal fabrication. - Ability to identify and apply dimensions and tolerances from international design standards to standard automotive components such as fastener joints, hydraulic joints and shaft-hole systems. - Apply standard cable management and routing concepts for automotive wire harnesses - enforce minimum bend radii, incorporate strain relief, separation from heat sources, sharp sheet metal edges, and moving components.Preferred Skills : - Ability to identify basic automotive electrical connections (power and signals) in the car and how to safely tap into the stock car electrical networks. - Identify harness routings, verify pinouts and connector interfaces, and conduct electrical continuity checks to ensure proper system wiring during setup and integration testing.
