About us
Torch Dental is building the operating system for dental practices. Based in NYC and Austin, we're on a mission to modernize the dental supply chain and revenue cycle by helping practices save time, reduce costs, and improve profitability through software that transforms critical parts of their business.
We offer two major products:
- Torch Dental Marketplace - the Amazon of the dental supply chain, helping practices simplify purchasing and save 15-25% on supplies from day one through transparent pricing across thousands of products.
- Torch Revenue Cycle Management - an agentic AI insurance platform launching this year that solves one of dentistry's biggest pain points: helping practices get paid faster and more accurately by insurance providers, using technology that's long underserved this space.
Operating in a $100B+ healthcare market, Torch is profitable, well-capitalized, and growing with intention. We're backed by leading investors including Harvard Management Company, MIT, Blackstone, Bessemer Venture Partners, and American Express Ventures, and we're entering an exciting new chapter as we scale both our marketplace and AI-powered revenue cycle platform.
We're a high-performance, close-knit team that enjoys solving real customer problems. We move quickly, take ownership, and maintain a strong bias for action. We believe great people do their best work when given meaningful responsibility, ambitious goals, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact. If you're excited about building category-defining products and helping healthcare providers thrive, we'd love to meet you.
About the role
The Talent and People Coordinator will help us bring exceptional talent into Torch and create an office experience that helps them do their best work. You’ll support recruiting from sourcing through the offer stage while owning daily Site Lead responsibilities for our Austin team. Your work will directly shape how candidates experience Torch and how prepared and supported teammates feel when they join.
Recruiting will focus primarily on Sales with support for other functions as needed. You’ll work closely with the Talent team, hiring managers and People Ops to source and screen candidates, keep interviews moving and make sure communication and next steps are clear. You’ll use agreed hiring criteria and get guidance on decisions that need more judgment. You’ll build skills in sourcing, screening and candidate experience with opportunities to take on more recruiting responsibility as you demonstrate readiness. You’ll also be the person who keeps the Austin office organized, stocked and running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative and follows through.
Talent responsibilities
- Support inbound and outbound sourcing for open roles, with a focus on sales recruiting.
- Screen candidates using the criteria agreed upon with hiring managers. Flag questions or unclear decisions.
- Coordinate interviews and keep candidates and hiring managers informed of next steps.
- Conduct interviews and create a strong candidate experience.
- Manage job postings and keep candidate records and next steps up to date in the ATS.
- Support offer logistics and the handoff from accepted offer to onboarding.
- Track recruiting activity and flag delays or gaps so we can keep the hiring plan on track.
Site Lead and People Operations support
- Coordinate new hire logistics including equipment, office access and first day preparation.
- Keep process documentation and checklists up to date.
- Help with routine employee requests and route sensitive matters to the People Ops team.
- Be the point person for daily Austin office needs and follow issues through to resolution.
- Coordinate vendors not limited to cleaners, coffee and water service, and maintenance. Escalate issues that need approval or additional support.
- Order and stock snacks, drinks and office supplies.
- Coordinate team meals and deliveries.
- Help plan and execute office events.
- Keep office equipment and swag organized and maintain inventory.
- Coordinate mail, guests, contractors and routine access requests.
- Check that shared spaces are ready for the team to work effectively and raise facilities issues promptly.
What we’re looking for
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in recruiting, coordination or a related people-facing role.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Clear communication with candidates, hiring managers and teammates.
- Ability to prioritize across recruiting and office needs.
- Consistent follow through and comfort taking initiative.
- Interest in growing within Talent and People Ops.
- Based in Austin and regularly onsite to handle office responsibilities.
