ABOUT THE JOB   Why Numeric Every business runs on accounting, but the systems underneath it were built for a different era. Today’s ERPs don’t store a company’s financial data. They store a diluted copy of it. Every contract, lease, and invoice gets flattened into a journal entry, and the context that made it meaningful is thrown away. That’s why accounting teams spend every month re-checking numbers, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on engineering, and why AI struggles to do real accounting work. Accounting doesn’t have a reporting problem. It has a data problem. Enter Numeric: the data platform finance teams run on. We started with the month-end close, where the data problem hurts most, and hundreds of finance teams now run their close on Numeric. That work led us to rebuild the system of record itself. In September 2026 we launched the Financial Data Platform (FDP), a platform built for the agent era. Instead of a journal entry, the real business object enters the system and the accounting is derived from it. Every number is traceable to its source, reporting works on any dimension, and accountants and AI agents finally have enough context to work together. While others bolted AI features onto the old data model, we built a new one. We have a growing base of customers who love our product, including Anthropic, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, Wealthfront, and Asana. We’ve raised $89M from top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies. We’re hybrid but in-office first, with teams in New York, San Francisco, and London, and we just shipped the product that will define our next decade. There’s never been a better time to join. ABOUT THIS ROLE You will help us win mid-market and enterprise accounts by managing the full sales cycle from pipeline generation through to closed-won. Our emphasis is on supporting your potential ambition to be a pivotal member at a company ready for scale.   RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the full sales cycle for mid-market and enterprise accounts — from prospecting and pipeline generation through demo, negotiation, and closed-won - Run discovery calls and tailored demos that connect Numeric's platform to each prospect's specific accounting and finance challenges - Share market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and customer insights back to Product, Marketing, and Leadership - Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene and crisp, timely follow-up — owning your deals end-to-end with precision - Don't take yourself too seriously MUST-HAVES - Experience selling into the Office CFO. Idea ERP, billing and revenue, finance systems or data warehouse applications - You have 7-10 years of full-cycle closing experience, selling complex SaaS - You are excited to meaningfully contribute to our sales motion and culture from the ground up YOU COULD BE A GREAT FIT IF - You move fast. You leverage tools/technology to maximize your selling time and are comfortable managing a pipeline of a dozen or more opportunities. - You skillfully guide prospects through their entire buying process—engaging the right stakeholders at the right time to create consensus. - You treat sales as a listening exercise then ask questions with precision. You can explain complex concepts in simple terms. - You share insights about the market, our product, industry trends, etc. back to the company. - You obsess over sending crisp follow-up emails, on time, and take pride in your forecast   HOW WE WORK This role is hybrid in San Francisco or New York (hybrid but in-office first, with flexibility to manage your schedule as you see fit). We strongly believe we will only be successful if everyone on the team is anchored in our following set of core principles: - Brick by Brick: To win, our team needs to show up and execute in each domain every day. - Love the Game: We focus on the craft and a deep sense of giving a f*ck. We’re building a company full of people who are equally engaged and motivated. - SALY: We refuse to accept “Same As Last Year.” For too long, accounting and finance systems have reflected outdated processes instead of reimagining what’s possible. We’re driven by a first-principles approach to building better solutions. - Own the Outcome: We own our results. We typically hire builders and give them large mandates with high-trust. Engineers are responsible not just for code, but for ensuring the product is solving the end problems of the users. - Earn the right: We’re impatient to deliver results. We relentlessly iterate, measure, and improve. Every day is an opportunity to beat our prior best, raising the bar for the value we deliver to customers.
