ABOUT THE ROLE
Enjoy solving problems and helping people? Crest Operations is looking for an IT Help Desk Technician to support employees across the Crest Industries Family of Companies.
You’ll help employees get back to work when technology gets in the way by troubleshooting computer issues, setting up equipment, and providing clear, friendly support. You’ll work alongside Systems Administrators and Engineers, build your technical skills, and contribute to projects that support our businesses.
Whether you’re finishing school, beginning your IT career, or bringing years of hands-on experience, we’d like to hear from you. We’re looking for strong customer service, practical problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn. Training and responsibilities will reflect the experience you bring.
What You’ll Do
Provide technical support to employees in person, by phone, through email and support tickets, and using remote support tools.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, Microsoft 365, connectivity, printer, and other common technology issues.
Set up and configure computers, install software, and assist with device imaging, system rebuilds, and user data transfers.
Help employees with mobile devices, conference room technology, and audiovisual equipment.
Assist with user accounts, access requests, and routine Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administrative tasks, following established approvals and security procedures.
Track, prioritize, and document support requests, keep employees informed, and coordinate with other IT team members when issues require additional support.
Assist with device support and deployment using tools such as Microsoft Intune and Workspace ONE.
Document solutions, identify recurring problems, and suggest ways to improve support.
Recognize and escalate suspected security issues according to established procedures.
Partner with Systems Administrators and Engineers on IT projects, taking on additional responsibilities as your skills develop.
What You’ll Bring
Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting gained through education, certifications, hands-on projects, or work experience.
Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
A customer-focused approach, patience, and a willingness to help employees with different levels of technical knowledge.
Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to organize work as priorities change.
The ability to work independently, ask questions when needed, and collaborate with a team.
An interest in learning new technologies and developing your IT skills.
An associate degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant training, certifications, and equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered. Previous professional IT experience is welcome but is not required.
Helpful Experience—Not Required
Supporting Windows 11, macOS, and Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Working with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, or basic user access administration.
Understanding networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN connections.
Using ticketing systems such as Zendesk and remote troubleshooting tools.
Imaging computers, migrating user data, or supporting devices through Microsoft Intune or Workspace ONE.
Supporting Autodesk or other business applications.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, relevant Microsoft certifications, or familiarity with ITIL service management practices.
Location and Travel
This position is based in Pineville, Louisiana. Occasional travel and limited overtime are required.
At Crest, people are our It factor. Join a team where you can help others, contribute your ideas, and continue building your technical skills.
