About Wakuli We love great coffee. That’s why we’re building an alternative coffee industry that actually works for both farmers and consumers. How? By working directly with farmer groups around the world. We set up transparent, traceable export lines, roast the beans ourselves and sell the coffee straight to customers. So no unnecessary middlemen or resellers. Those short supply chains make sure farmers always get a good price. You’ll find us in 25 (and counting) bars across the Netherlands, and online through our own platform. For customers, that means freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to access, relatively affordable and just seriously delicious. We are building the new coffee brand of the 21st century with a team of like-minded innovators from all over the world. About the role Our retail network is growing fast, and we're looking for a Retail Demand Planner to make sure the right products are in the right place at the right time. You'll own demand planning across all retail and non-retail categories, balancing waste against out-of-stocks, and building planning processes that can keep pace with menu changes and several product launches every year. You'll be the link between data and people: turning numbers into forecasts, and forecasts into decisions that work on the shop floor. You will work in the S&OP team together with other planners and system specialists. This team takes care of planning and the ERP system, working closely with operations and finance. What you'll do Demand planning and forecasting - Own demand planning for the entire retail network across all CPG and non-CPG categories, with a clear focus on minimizing waste and out-of-stocks (OOS) - Build, maintain, and continuously improve statistical forecasts at store and SKU level - Integrate insights, promotions, events, and product launches from Marketing, Product, Operations, and other teams into the forecast model - Monitor forecast accuracy, waste, and OOS KPIs, analyze root causes, and act on deviations - Plan for seasonality, weather effects, local events, and store-specific patterns. Lead demand planning for at least four menu changes and multiple new product launches per year, including initial allocations, ramp-up, and phase-outs of discontinued items - Set forecasts for new stores and new products where historical data is limited - Make sure planning tools, processes, and ways of working scale as the network grows - Identify opportunities to automate and improve planning processes - Explore and implement AI and machine-learning tools in demand planning - Document processes so planning stays consistent and transparent Collaboration and communication - Work closely with planning, store teams and the warehouse to translate forecasts into practical ordering and replenishment decisions - Collect feedback from stores and incorporate on-the-ground knowledge into the plan - Present forecasts, performance, and recommendations clearly to senior management and leadership - Align with Purchasing and Supply Chain on volumes, lead times, and capacity What you bring - At least 2 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain. Experience in coffee chains, food & beverage retail and supermarkets is a strong plus - Solid knowledge of statistics and forecasting methods (e.g. time series, moving averages, regression) - Hands-on experience managing fresh or short shelf-life products, where waste and availability must be carefully balanced - Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL, Python, R, or BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Looker, Tableau) is a strong plus - Experience with ERP systems is a plus - Experience planning promotions, product launches, and assortment changes - A degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is a strong plus - Proficiency in English, Dutch is a plus - Bonus: experience integrating AI or machine learning into demand planning - Bonus: experience in a fast-growing or scale-up environment - Bonus: experience with Odoo Who you are - Data-driven first: you base your analyses and decisions on data, but you also understand that not everything can be measured, and you know how to weigh non-quantifiable factors and the human element - A clear communicator: you're equally comfortable presenting to leadership as you are talking with colleagues in the stores and warehouse, adjusting your message to your audience - Structured and proactive: you bring order to complexity and spot problems before they happen - A builder: you enjoy improving and scaling processes, not just running them - Hands-on and curious: you like visiting stores to understand what's behind the numbers, and you're eager to learn new tools and methods - A team player: you build strong relationships across departments and take ownership of results - Calm under pressure: you keep a cool head during launches, peaks, and unexpected changes What we offer - Work in a young, flexible, international, and entrepreneurial team - Unlimited enjoyment of the best coffee - Flexible working hours - Salary: 3500 € - 4500 € gross based on experience (based on full-time employment ) - Hours: 36-40 per week - Opportunities for growth within the organization
