Art Specialist
CRDN Midwest | Omaha, NE | Full Time
About CRDN Midwest
When a fire, flood, or other disaster hits a home or business, CRDN steps in to restore what matters most. We’re a full contents restoration company, and our team cleans, documents, and restores everything from family heirlooms to fine art. Our culture runs on teamwork, customer service, communication, a positive attitude, and empathy. We take care of our customers’ belongings, and we take care of each other.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Art Specialist to own the handling, cleaning, documentation, and restoration of artwork and specialty pieces in our Omaha facility. Paintings, sculptures, frames, and one of a kind items come through our doors with real financial and sentimental value attached. You’ll treat every piece like it belongs to someone who’s counting on you, because it does.
This role suits someone with steady hands, a sharp eye for detail, and the patience to do delicate work right the first time. As you grow, you’ll become the go to expert for art on our inhouse team and help train others in your craft.
What You’ll Do
- Carefully handle and transport artwork of all types, including paintings, sculptures, frames, and specialty pieces
- Photograph and document each piece in our inventory system with clear, accurate item descriptions
- Assess items and identify what’s restorable versus non-salvageable
- Apply CRDN approved cleaning and restoration processes
- Pack and protect artwork for safe storage and transport
- Stage pieces in the correct production areas and update locations by scanning QR codes
- Communicate special handling needs to the Production Manager and team
- Keep the art restoration space clean, safe, and organized
- Audit art documentation weekly for accuracy and completeness
- Train peers on art handling, packing, and documentation standards
- Spot opportunities to improve how we handle, store, and clean art
What You Bring
- Experience handling fine art or delicate items (gallery, museum, framing, art conservation, moving, or restoration experience is a big plus)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach
- Comfort taking photos and entering information into software on a tablet or computer
- Clear communication skills and a team first mindset
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Interest in becoming a subject matter expert and sharing what you know with others
