Keep Hyperscale Construction Moving
The successful delivery of hyperscale data centers depends on the safe, efficient, and coordinated movement of people, materials, equipment, vehicles, and resources across rapidly evolving construction campuses. As projects scale to hundreds or thousands of workers and multiple active construction zones, logistics becomes one of the most critical functions supporting successful project execution.
As a Logistics Manager, you will lead site logistics planning, coordination, and execution across major hyperscale data center developments. You will be responsible for managing the operational framework that enables construction teams to safely and efficiently execute work across large-scale greenfield campuses.
Your efforts will help ensure personnel, subcontractors, equipment, materials, suppliers, and construction teams can operate effectively while supporting aggressive project schedules and critical project milestones.
About Michels Infrastructure Solutions
Michels Infrastructure Solutions (MIS) brings together the full capabilities of the Michels Family of Companies under a Super General Contractor (Super GC) model, providing mission-critical owners and developers with a single point of accountability for every phase of project execution.
By combining self-performed specialty design, construction, and commissioning services, MIS delivers large-scale, multidisciplinary projects with greater control over safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
MIS specializes in the delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission-critical facilities, leveraging expertise across mass grading and site development, wet and dry utilities, fiber and telecommunications infrastructure, ground improvement, deep foundations, structural concrete, power infrastructure, and commissioning. Our integrated delivery approach enables customers to partner with a single-source team capable of executing some of North America's most complex and demanding infrastructure projects.
Position Overview
As a Logistics Manager, you will lead project-wide logistics activities supporting major hyperscale data center construction projects. You will be responsible for planning and executing logistics strategies involving site access, traffic management, delivery coordination, material flow, laydown yard operations, temporary facilities, worker transportation systems, vendor staging areas, construction routing plans, and logistics infrastructure supporting campus-wide development activities.
During the early phases of project development, you will help establish the operational framework required to support large-scale site development activities including mass grading, utility installation, power infrastructure construction, and future vertical construction operations.
Working closely with Project Management, Construction Management, Procurement, Field Operations, Safety, Suppliers, Utility Providers, and Subcontractors, you will ensure people, equipment, and materials move efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
This role serves as a critical connector between procurement, construction operations, suppliers, subcontractors, and project leadership while helping maintain visibility into material status, equipment movements, delivery schedules, site access requirements, logistics constraints, and campus-wide operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction logistics planning and execution for hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Develop and manage campus-wide logistics plans supporting multiple simultaneous construction activities.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment deliveries, and site logistics activities across active construction zones.
- Develop and maintain logistics plans aligned with construction schedules, project milestones, and operational requirements.
- Manage laydown yards, storage locations, material-flow routes, staging areas, trailer compounds, and logistics infrastructure.
- Coordinate site access routes, delivery corridors, haul roads, shuttle systems, and traffic management plans.
- Oversee temporary facilities, worker parking areas, vendor staging locations, and project logistics infrastructure.
- Coordinate oversized deliveries, critical equipment movements, crane access requirements, and special transportation activities.
- Monitor delivery schedules, inventory levels, logistics performance metrics, and material availability.
- Support workforce logistics planning associated with large project labor populations.
- Maintain visibility of critical materials and equipment throughout the supply chain and delivery process.
- Support field teams with material tracking, coordination, and readiness activities.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement project logistics plans supporting site-development, utility, infrastructure, and building construction activities.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with suppliers, subcontractors, procurement teams, vendors, utility providers, and field operations.
- Manage site delivery schedules and proactively prevent site congestion, access conflicts, and operational disruptions.
- Track material inventory, storage locations, delivery status, equipment readiness, and logistics constraints.
- Coordinate receiving, inspection, tracking, and documentation processes for construction materials and equipment.
- Maintain material tracking systems, logistics dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Support long-lead equipment delivery planning and critical material coordination efforts.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Project Controls, Construction Management, and Field Operations teams to identify material shortages, delivery delays, and supply chain risks.
- Coordinate laydown yard operations, material storage areas, logistics staging activities, and construction routing plans.
- Support development and management of trailer compounds, temporary offices, worker parking areas, shuttle operations, and temporary utility services.
- Coordinate logistics requirements between civil contractors, utility contractors, vertical construction teams, specialty subcontractors, and commissioning personnel.
- Support mass earthwork, utility installation, structural concrete, power infrastructure, and major equipment installation activities through effective logistics planning.
- Monitor logistics performance metrics, inventory reporting, material movement activities, and operational readiness indicators.
- Assist with logistics planning for project mobilization, major construction phases, campus expansion efforts, commissioning activities, and project closeout.
- Develop contingency plans addressing weather impacts, site congestion, traffic conflicts, schedule changes, and evolving project priorities.
- Identify and resolve logistics challenges that may impact safety, productivity, schedule performance, or construction execution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to construction logistics, site operations, inventory controls, material management, and supply-chain visibility.
