JOB SUMMARY You will be one of the senior engineers building a new headless front-end for one of the most visited news sites in the world. The team has an aggressive goal of launching a first page early next year. You will shape the architecture, set front-end standards, and work with AI-assisted workflows in the news media industry. RESPONSIBILITIES - Design and build the new headless front-end architecture. - Deliver the initial launch page within the early-next-year schedule. - Establish front-end standards, component patterns, testing frameworks, and code review processes. - Maintain ownership of performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, and accessibility. - Connect user interfaces with headless CMS platforms and internal APIs. - Mentor team members and collaborate closely with the Core Web engineering manager. - Implement and refine AI-driven agentic workflows across the development lifecycle. QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS - 5+ years in senior front-end engineering. - Advanced React, Next.js (App Router) and TypeScript. - Experience building on Headless CMS and API-driven content. - Focus on Core Web Vitals, Technical SEO, and Web Accessibility. - Proven record establishing automated testing practices. - Active AI-First workflow using daily AI coding assistants. - Fluent English for daily collaboration with a US team.
