ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
At Rennscot, we build complex, mission-critical components for industries where quality, precision, and execution matter. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Project Engineer who can bring structure to complexity, strengthen how we plan and execute our most critical programs, and help raise the bar for project engineering across the organization.
This isn't simply a role focused on keeping projects on schedule. You'll be a trusted technical and planning leader working at the intersection of customers, engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations.
You'll take ownership of some of our most complex and visible programs while helping build the systems, standards, and best practices that allow us to scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead planning and execution for some of our most challenging customer programs. You'll anticipate risks, navigate competing priorities, solve complex planning problems, and help ensure we deliver on our commitments.
- Build strong relationships with customers and serve as a credible, proactive point of contact for program status, risks, changes, and priorities.
- You'll turn complex technical, planning, schedule, and quality information into clear, decision-ready communication — including customer presentations, program reviews, and executive-level updates.
- You'll develop and improve manufacturing planning standards, routing methodologies, and ERP governance practices that create more consistent, scalable, and reliable execution across the organization.
- Help ensure our ERP is more than a system of record — it should be a reliable source of manufacturing knowledge.
- You'll establish and improve standards for manufacturing plan information, including descriptions, bills of materials, part check information, routing, procurement requirements, and other critical planning data.
- You'll work across manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, and operations to connect customer requirements with production realities — identifying capacity constraints, material risks, scheduling challenges, and potential bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
- You'll identify opportunities to improve planning efficiency, lead times, ERP data quality, scheduling, and workflows. You'll also lead structured after-action reviews on complex programs so lessons learned turn into better processes — not just conversations.
- You'll be a senior resource and mentor for other Project Engineers, sharing your expertise, helping solve difficult problems, and modeling exceptional planning, execution, and customer communication.
- Support other projects and assignments as needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience; associate’s degree with 8+ years; bachelor’s degree with 5+ years; or master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in manufacturing planning, project engineering, scheduling, or complex program execution
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and production workflows
- Experience improving planning processes, standards, and operational execution
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience with ProShop ERP or a comparable manufacturing ERP
- Strong problem-solving, customer communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Relevant experience should demonstrate progressively advanced responsibility in areas such as manufacturing planning, project engineering, production scheduling, ERP management, and complex program execution.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods while using ERP systems, developing manufacturing plans, managing schedules, and communicating across teams.
- Ability to regularly walk and stand throughout an active manufacturing environment to coordinate work, review program status, and support planning activities.
- Ability to occasionally bend, reach, and access production areas as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work safely in an active manufacturing environment and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
- Visual ability to review technical drawings, work orders, ERP records, and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
