Sales Layer is the PIM platform used by manufacturers, distributors and retailers across Europe and the Americas to manage catalogues with thousands of products, variants and languages, and publish them across any channel: e-commerce, marketplaces, ERP systems, catalogues and feeds. At Sales Layer, AI is at the heart of our product. Our customers already translate, enrich and govern their catalogues with AI agents, and work with their data from Claude or ChatGPT through our MCP Server. Our thesis is simple: in an AI-driven world, product data is the battleground, and PIM is the source of truth. Brands such as Tupperware, Acciona, Avnet and Teka trust our platform with their catalogues, and G2 has recognised us as leaders in Commerce Products, placing us among the top 1% of its highest-rated products worldwide. Founded in Valencia in 2013, we are now a team representing more than 15 nationalities, with a culture built on personal growth, flexibility and trust. We are looking for a VP of Product to own the platform’s vision, roadmap and prioritisation. You will report directly to the CEO and join the executive leadership team. You will lead the Product and Design teams and work closely with the leaders of our development teams. Together, Product and Engineering comprise around 25 people. The development team leaders own and explain the architecture and technical design. Your job is to understand enough to set priorities, agree on scope and assess whether we are on the right track, without reviewing implementation details. We have an approved product plan, an established team and a portfolio of AI features already in the market. You will build on this foundation, challenge the plan with your own judgement, make it your own and execute it. You will: - Define and defend the product vision and roadmap before the executive leadership team and the board. - Decide what gets built, what gets put on hold and what changes direction, using clear criteria that you explain. - Connect product decisions to the business: which segments we grow in, what supports our pricing, where our margins come from and what sets us apart from competitors. - Lead the evolution of our AI product offering. - Write or oversee product requirements documents (PRDs), and agree on feasibility, scope and cost with the Technology team. - Lead the Product and UX/UI Design teams, and coordinate with the development teams. - Oversee the lifecycle of our API and our ecosystem of integrations and applications. - Make decisions based on data: analyse how the platform is actually used and compare that with requests from customers, partners and Customer Success. - Turn that analysis and feedback into documented decisions. - Meet with international customers and partners, and represent the product externally. - Work with Marketing and Sales on the positioning and communication of each launch. - Maintain regular updates with the CEO on progress, decisions, risks and the support you need. - APIs and integrations. You understand what an API is, have worked with APIs and know how they are structured, versioned and integrated with customers’ systems. For us, this is already the foundation of everything we build. - Architectural concepts that affect product decisions. You understand the cost, maintainability and long-term constraints of technical decisions, and know how to ask the right questions without needing implementation-level detail. - At least 8 years in software product roles, including 3 or more years leading a product team, with senior contributors or leads. - Complex software and enterprise customers. You have owned a B2B product sold to large enterprises and delivered through an implementation process involving integrations with customer systems, complex data models, multiple stakeholders and long cycles. You understand what makes an industrial catalogue complex and what those customers truly value. - Business judgement. You understand a software business’s profit and loss, revenue model, retention and competitive positioning, and make product decisions accordingly. - AI applied to product. You have an informed view of how AI changes a product like ours and what is worth building, and you use these tools in your own work. - Enough UX/UI judgement to lead Design. You can review prototypes in Figma and make decisions. - Reporting skills. You know how to document progress, decisions and risks, and maintain useful follow-up conversations with leadership without needing to be prompted for information. - Fluent English (C1 or above) for working with international customers, partners and suppliers, plus Spanish. If you come from consulting or implementing complex software for customers and have moved into building products, we would like to hear from you. That understanding of enterprise customers is exactly what we are looking for. Nice to have - Experience in subscription-based B2B SaaS. - Experience with PIM, PXM, MDM, ERP, B2B e-commerce or product data platforms. - Knowledge of industry standards: ETIM, UNSPSC, GS1 and Digital Product Passport. - Experience with e-commerce and marketplace connectors, and agentic commerce protocols (ACP, UCP). - Advanced Figma skills and experience with design systems. - Experience building internal tools or AI automations for other teams. - Knowledge of a programming language such as .NET, Python or PHP. - Experience in B2B product marketing and presenting to executive leadership teams. - Experience as a founder or as a member of a technology company’s executive leadership team. - A leadership role with real product ownership and a direct reporting line to the CEO. - A product with AI in production and customer traction. - Company-paid health insurance. - 24 days of paid annual leave. - A hybrid working model based at our office in central Valencia: two or three days in the office each week, with the rest working from wherever you choose. - A competitive salary based on experience. - A team already using AI to build and deliver, from Engineering to Finance.
