About the role
SEOCustomer SuccessQuality Assurance
Director of AI Content Systems, Marketing
Remote (United States or Canada, minimum 4-hour overlap with US Eastern hours) | Marketing | Reports to: VP of Marketing
The role
You won't write most of our content, you'll design, build, and run the AI-powered system (think content engineering) that turns product, customer, and expert knowledge into content that drives organic pipeline.
You're not a software engineer, but you think like one. You're as comfortable vibe coding and building agents as you are customizing WordPress, writing brand guidelines, or proofreading a white paper.
This is the first hire on a new team at Time Doctor. We run it like an engineering team whose product is content: a clear spec, a repeatable production system, quality gates, and measured output. The team stays small and gets its leverage from AI, automation, freelancers, agencies, and subject-matter experts.
Who we are
Time Doctor is a workforce analytics platform that gives distributed teams the visibility they need to improve trust and performance. We serve remote, hybrid and outsourced organisations worldwide, with particular strength in BPO, healthcare and tech services. We are bootstrapped, profitable and fully remote, with team members across 30+ countries. We built a durable business on customer revenue rather than venture capital, and we are now focused on growing it.
What you'll own
- Content strategy. Decide what we publish, for whom, and why, based on search demand, AI-search behavior, buyer questions, and revenue marketing priorities.
- The content production system. Design and run the AI workflows, agents, prompt libraries, briefs, and QA gates that produce content at scale. Treat it like a product: version it, measure it, and keep improving it.
- Expert input pipeline. Build repeatable ways to capture knowledge from product, customer success, sales, customers, and outside experts, and feed it into the system so our content says things competitors can't.
- Verbal and visual brand. Own voice, tone, and editorial standards, and encode them into the system so every asset meets them by default.
- SEO and AI search (GEO). Own strategy for organic search and visibility in AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and others).
- The website. Own site architecture, content structure, conversion paths, and the website roadmap.
- Tooling and vendors. Choose and manage the AI tools, automation platforms, and outside partners the team runs on, within a budget.
How you'll be measured
You own three outcomes: organic leads, organic traffic, and AI + SEO search visibility. Because organic results lag, your first two quarters are weighted toward leading indicators that show the system is working.
What you'll manage and who you'll work with
You'll build and manage: content development, technical SEO/GEO implementation, and visual design. You'll do the work yourself when speed matters, and bring in agencies, contractors, or freelancers you select and direct against our brand guidelines when scale matters.
Your inputs: positioning, messaging, and personas come from the VP of Marketing. You turn them into content at scale; you don't own positioning.
Your team: Freelancers and contractors as needed, with a path to hire as the system proves out.
