Are you passionate about technology with a purpose? Want to make a meaningful impact on people's health? Want to work in an AI-native company? At Relu, we're growing - and we're looking for someone like you.
We're looking for a Product Engineer, Frontend & UX to join our Automate Platform team. Your mission is to make Automate simple for dental labs to use, and own how the product looks and feels. You will:
- Design system: turn relui into a real base layer, with consistent type scale, spacing, dialogs and buttons. Build a table component that works like Linear or Notion (column config, saved views, inline edits, keyboard use).
- Simpler order creation: a simple flow showing the main options in plain terms (for example tight, medium, loose instead of retention in mm), with the full parameter set one click away.
- Agents simple mode: a guided mode focused on inbox status updates and a few common actions. Also a clearer view of past runs and better grouping of pieces.
- Inbox UX: Scan Check warnings in the inbox viewer, clear sync status and errors, customizable dashboards on inbox data.
- Dentist-facing flows: share a case with a dentist to approve or reject outputs, with drawing and comments on the 3D view.
- Onboarding and product updates: an in-app academy, guided first steps, an in-app changelog, a notification center.
- Ask Relu UI: make the chat less cluttered and better at guiding users through the app.
First 6 months
- Month 1: ship two or three UX fixes across orders and inbox, and write a short UI audit of the app.
- Months 2 to 3: design-system v1 (tokens, dialogs, buttons) and the new table component, rolled out to the inbox and orders lists.
- Months 3 to 4: simple order-creation flow, tested with three customers.
- Months 4 to 6: agents simple mode and the dentist approval flow.
What you should bring to the team
- Product ownership and vision: You take a raw user problem, dig to the real need, and separate what's essential from what's nice to have — before you write a line of code
- 3+ years building web product UIs, with at least 2 years owning UX decisions, not just implementing designs
- Strong TypeScript and a modern component framework — Vue preferred, React fine if you're ready to switch
- A portfolio or live product where you shaped the UX: you can walk us through the problem, what you tried, and why you landed where you did
- You've built or maintained a component library or design system
- You work well from loose specs and talk to users directly, without needing to be pushed
- You can coach a junior engineer through code reviews and pairing sessions
The 'Nice-to-haves'
- Experience with data-heavy B2B tools: tables, filters, dashboards, workflow builders
- 3D or canvas work (three.js, WebGL)
- Figma skills good enough to throw together a quick mock
- Background in healthcare or other professional-tool environments
- Dutch or French
How you work
- You're an independent thinker: you don't blindly implement tickets. You think through the consequences and connections of your work and find smart solutions to problems.
- You're reliable — people can count on you to see things through.
You communicate. You pick up a ticket, ask questions when in doubt, and then execute until it's done — without breaking other things along the way. We don't work in silos.
You think sharply, and you'll be surrounded by people who do the same.
Our Tech Stack = Your Tech Stack
- Frontend: Vue 3, TypeScript, Vuetify, Pinia, vue-query, Nx monorepo
- Backend & APIs: Python, FastAPI — you'll add endpoints when a feature needs it
- Data & Databases: PostgreSQL
- 3D: three.js (occasional, e.g. the dentist approval flow)
- Infrastructure & DevOps: AWS, CI/CD
Practical Requirements / Eligibility
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Valid work authorization in Belgium
- Able to work from our Leuven office at least 3 days per week
Red flags (we're honest about what doesn't fit)
- You need finished designs before you can start
- You talk about frameworks and never about users
- Your portfolio shows implemented mockups — but no UX decisions of your own
- You reach for visual flourish when the user just needed fewer steps
- A mission that matters: we're improving dental care and making higher-quality dentistry accessible to everyone, globally
- A fast-growing company where your growth goes hand-in-hand with ours — real impact, real ownership, early responsibility and skills in the technologies of the future
- The chance to work with the latest AI technologies and industry leaders in dentistry
- Fun team culture: after-works, bi-weekly sports, hackathons, retreats
