This isn’t a traditional NP job. You’ll own your practice, choose the patients you want to serve, and have control over your schedule. And getting started doesn't mean you have to leave your current job. Many NPs start with just a few hours a week while continuing to work elsewhere. From there, you can grow your practice at a pace that feels right for you. Your practice could remain part-time or eventually become your full-time career. Most practices can cover their basic costs with fewer than 3 patient visits per month, and startup costs are typically less than $3,000. As your practice grows, NPs typically take home around $100–$150 per clinical hour, with the potential to earn around $250,000 annually in a full-time practice.
