Importance of the Role The VP of Carrier Relations is responsible for building and advancing Matic's carrier marketplace as a core competitive advantage across our insurance businesses. This role owns Matic's carrier strategy, strategic carrier partnerships, and carrier innovation, ensuring we have the products, relationships, economics, and technology capabilities required to deliver greater choice, conversion, and customer value. Responsibilities - Carrier Strategy & Marketplace - Build the carrier marketplace required to support Matic's growth and win across our distribution businesses. - Set and own Matic's overall carrier and insurance product strategy, with clear priorities and accountability across the Carrier Relations team. - Continuously evaluate the competitiveness of our carrier lineup across products, geographies, customer segments, and business models. - Identify carrier, product, and coverage gaps and develop strategies to address them. - Own the strategy and business case for adding new carriers and expanding existing carrier relationships. - Anticipate the carrier capabilities required to support Enterprise Agency, Matic Local, Book Acquisition, and future growth opportunities. - Carrier Partnerships & Performance - Build and oversee Matic's carrier relationship strategy, personally owning executive relationships with our most strategic carrier partners. - Develop joint strategies with key carriers to increase production, improve performance, and expand the relationship. - Manage carrier performance across production, placement, profitability, quality, and other key carrier expectations. - Maximize carrier economics through production bonuses, long-term incentives, and other strategic opportunities. - Build and lead a high-performing Carrier Relations team with clear ownership across carrier relationships, priorities, and performance. - Carrier Innovation - Push Matic and our carrier partners to build differentiated capabilities that improve the customer and agent experience. - Own the vision for advancing Matic's Carrier Quoting Platform and carrier connectivity. - Partner with Product & Engineering to define and prioritize the carrier technology roadmap. - Advance carrier partners toward deeper technology integration, including bindable quoting APIs, servicing APIs, and other capabilities that create a more seamless insurance experience. - Identify opportunities to use carrier technology, data, and connectivity to improve quote availability, accuracy, conversion, servicing, and customer experience. - Build strategic partnerships with carriers willing to innovate alongside Matic and create capabilities that differentiate our platform. How Success Is Measured - Breadth, competitiveness, and quality of Matic's carrier and product marketplace. - Increased quote availability and placement across priority customer segments and markets. - Growth and performance of strategic carrier partnerships. - Improved carrier economics and profitability. - Expansion of bindable APIs, servicing APIs, and other strategic carrier integrations. - Measurable improvement in customer and agent experience enabled by carrier innovation. The Leader We Need You are a strategic insurance leader who can turn Matic's carrier network into a true competitive advantage. You are more than a traditional relationship manager; this leader needs deep P&C insurance expertise and credibility with senior carrier executives. You should be commercially minded, analytically strong, and technology-forward, with the ability to understand where insurance distribution is going and influence carriers to move with us. You should be equally comfortable negotiating a strategic carrier partnership, analyzing gaps in our marketplace, and sitting with Product & Engineering to define the next generation of carrier connectivity.
