About the role
Supply Chain
About Nox Metals. American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. Nox Metals is building it, along with the tools that run it. We’re a technology company with operations in Metro Detroit and Los Angeles, supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.
The role. We’re hiring a Senior Finance Manager to build the financial operating system behind Nox Metals. You will own a reliable close, management reporting, controls, planning, cash visibility, and analysis that helps leaders make better commercial and operating decisions.
This role sits close to the business. You will understand how inventory, purchasing, production, pricing, freight, and customer terms move through the financial statements, then turn that understanding into clear decisions and durable processes.
You will:
- Own monthly close, account reconciliations, and management reporting
- Build forecasts and planning processes for revenue, margin, cash, labor, inventory, and capital
- Explain actual performance and the operating drivers behind variances
- Develop controls appropriate for a fast-growing, inventory-intensive company
- Partner with sales and operations on pricing, customer economics, capacity, and investment decisions
- Improve costing, inventory accounting, and gross-margin visibility
- Manage audit, tax, insurance, banking, and external-accounting workflows
- Develop finance systems and automate repetitive reporting responsibly
- Support leadership and board materials with accurate, decision-ready analysis
- Coach finance teammates and raise the standard for documentation and follow-through
You are:
- Strong in accounting fundamentals and equally interested in operating decisions
- Able to build a model and then test its assumptions on the factory floor
- Rigorous about accuracy, controls, and deadlines
- Clear and concise when explaining financial results to non-finance leaders
- Comfortable in a growing company where systems are still being built
- Commercially minded without compromising accounting integrity
- Low ego, direct, and willing to own the details
Nice to have:
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, metals, logistics, or another inventory-heavy business
- Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, working capital, or plant finance
- CPA, public-accounting experience, or an equivalent technical accounting foundation
- Experience implementing ERP, planning, or business-intelligence systems
- Comfort using AI and automation tools with appropriate financial controls
Benefits:
- Equity in Nox Metals
- Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
This role is full time and in person in either Los Angeles or Ferndale.
