About the Role
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial management and performance of our client portfolio. You’ll partner closely with Account Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, maintain accurate forecasting and reporting, support revenue recognition, and help ensure strong financial controls across client engagements.
We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can work independently, communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, and translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Support the financial management of assigned clients, including revenue, costs, profitability, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain monthly revenue forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities and communicating key changes to Finance leadership.
- Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including revenue recognition, accruals, deferred revenue, and related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review project financials to ensure revenue and costs are recognized accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Partner with Account and Operations teams to monitor project budgets, scopes, staffing, utilization, and overall client profitability.
- Analyze actual financial performance against budget and forecast and provide clear explanations for material variances.
- Monitor client billing, accounts receivable, work-in-progress, and other financial balances to identify and resolve aged or outstanding items.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of client rate cards, staffing plans, and financial models.
- Assist with client and project setup to ensure appropriate financial structures and controls are established.
- Prepare financial reporting and analysis for Finance and business leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing accurate and complete financial documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize financial processes, reporting, and controls.
- Collaborate across Finance, Account Management, Operations, Billing, Accounting, and other teams to resolve financial issues and support business decisions.
About You
The essentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Client Finance, Commercial Finance, Accounting, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, revenue recognition, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills with the ability to work with and analyze large data sets.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify financial risks and translate data into actionable business insights.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Not a Must but a Plus:
- Experience within advertising, media, digital marketing, professional services, or another project-based business.
- Experience supporting large or complex client accounts.
- Knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with project-based financial management, including time and materials, fixed-fee, and retainer engagements.
- Experience with process improvement, financial systems implementations, or automation initiatives.
