We seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee our Israeli accounting operations and provide hands-on financial analysis, business partnering, and reporting support to our global finance team.
This is a manager role with substantial Individual Contributor (IC) responsibilities. You will directly manage and support our Israeli Staff Accountant while personally maintaining financial models, preparing internal reporting and external investor reporting, managing budgeting and forecasting, and performing analysis.
Success requires a willingness to understand the underlying transactions, work directly in spreadsheets and accounting systems, and follow deliverables through preparation, review, and completion. Strategic contributions will come from accurate analysis, a strong understanding of the business, and actionable recommendations.
The position is based in our Tel Aviv office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
OWN ACCOUNTING REVIEW AND SUPPORT THE ISRAELI ACCOUNTING FUNCTION
- Directly manage the Israeli Staff Accountant, providing regular guidance, timely reviews, clear priorities, and practical help resolving issues.
- Review accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, corporate allocations, equity, and other close activities for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Investigate discrepancies, resolve open questions, and ensure corrections are completed.
- Develop a detailed working knowledge of the Staff Accountant’s recurring responsibilities, systems, and workflows.
- Document critical processes and become capable of personally covering essential activities during absences or transitions.
- Coordinate with external accounting, payroll, audit, and tax providers, maintaining clear internal ownership of deliverables.
- Improve close procedures and financial controls while preserving appropriate approval and review responsibilities.
PERSONALLY EXECUTE FINANCIAL PLANNING, ANALYSIS, AND REPORTING
- Work directly with our U.S. finance leadership to prepare analysis and complete recurring finance deliverables.
- Maintain and update the financial model, including actual results, forecasts, assumptions, and supporting schedules.
- Own all financial planning and forecasting for R&D, including headcount planning, operational expenses, long-range planning.
- Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, identify business drivers, and communicate clear explanations.
- Manage quarterly reviews of all our Product P&Ls that will help leadership evaluate spending, resource allocation, and business performance.
- Own the end-to-end management and analysis of AWS cloud spend, including tracking actuals against budget, dissecting key cost drivers and usage trends to provide context, partnering with engineering leadership to align on priorities and tradeoffs, and recommending cost optimization opportunities based on findings.
- Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations, supported by clear assumptions and reliable data.
TAKE OWNERSHIP OF EXECUTION
- Personally prepare deliverables and perform a thorough self-review before submitting them.
- Maintain a calendar of recurring responsibilities, meet deadlines, and flag risks early.
- Work through unfamiliar tasks by researching, asking focused questions, and following issues to resolution.
- Collaborate effectively across Israel and the U.S., including agreed working-hour overlap.
- Improve recurring processes while continuing to deliver the underlying work reliably.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Demonstrated experience in both accounting operations and financial planning and analysis.
- Strong practical accounting knowledge and experience reviewing close activities, AP, payroll, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience with Israeli accounting and payroll processes and coordinating with local external advisers.
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including maintaining financial models, troubleshooting formulas, and reconciling data across sources.
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, management reporting, and variance analyses.
- The ability to support and develop a Staff Accountant through detailed review, clear feedback, and hands-on problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hebrew.
Preferred: Israeli CPA qualification; experience in a technology or SaaS company; experience supporting a global finance team and preparing investor reporting.
