The Department of Sanitation (DSNY) keeps New York City clean, safe, and healthy by collecting, recycling, and disposing of waste, cleaning streets, attacking the scourge of illegal dumping, and clearing snow and ice. The Department operates 59 district garages and manages a fleet of more than 2,000 rear-loading collection trucks, 450 mechanical brooms, 705 salt spreaders, and several dozen bike lane operations machines. Under the Adams Administration, the Department is aggressively cleaning more parts of the City than ever before, including over 1,000 long-ignored areas spread across every neighborhood. With the highest wintertime uniformed headcount in 20 years, DSNY is more equipped than ever to remove snow and ice from the approximately 19,000 lane-miles of City streets. DSNY’s Medical Division is seeking a Procurement Analyst to support the Division’s work by coordinating, processing, and tracking all aspects of our Division’s purchasing. Under direction of senior staff, the Procurement Analyst will perform difficult and responsible administrative work. Tasks will include, but not be limited to: - Liaising with vendors and obtaining quotes for goods and services requested by Medical Division staff members - Researching and preparing requisitions - Prepare budget modifications as needed - Submitting and managing the progress of purchase order requests - Coordinating delivery of merchandise - Completing receiving reports Title Information Candidates should be permanent Procurement Analyst or should have taken exam #3114, #5111, or #6088. Candidates serving in a similar titles may apply. - Follow the appropriate procurement method and rules for each procurement - Help ensure staff adhere to purchasing and accounting policies and procedures - Support larger contract processes (preparing solicitation specifications, facilitating contract registration, etc.) - Perform data entry - Create and maintain tracking reports - Working closely with senior staff to meet purchasing needs efficiently - Serve as a liaison to other DSNY offices (Fiscal Services, Chief Contracting Officer, etc.) - Other related tasks as assigned PROCUREMENT ANALYST - 12158 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; or 2. An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university, and 12 months of satisfactory, full-time professional experience in procurement of goods, services, construction or construction-related services, or professional, technical or administrative experience in contract negotiation/management; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or 4. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience under "2" or "3" above at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for 6 months of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; or To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, either one year served at Assignment Level I or one additional year of the experience described in "2" above.
