Student Health and Wellness in the Division of Student Affairs supports wellness through premiere services, resources, and education to promote the development of healthy students and to foster campus well-being. Centers, offices, and initiatives that help this area to achieve its mission include the Center for Student Support and Care, the University Counseling Center (UCC), University Health Services (UHS), and the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being. All offices coordinate services to best serve students, no matter where they first seek care.
To support the current operational needs in the University Counseling Center, University Health Services and the McDonald Center for Student Well-being, Student Health and Wellness is hiring Staff Assistants to support front office and receptionist duties as well as special projects. 
University Counseling Center
The University Counseling Center Staff Assistant will assist in scheduling appointments for all counseling services, including ongoing counseling appointments, psychiatric services, sport psychology services, nutritional counseling and group counseling; maintain the department's electronic schedule; and assist with entry of all client contacts in the electronic medical record keeping system; answer phone calls and assist with office projects. Adherence to confidentiality is an important function of the role.
University Health Services
Supporting operations of the front office staff, the University Health Services Staff Assistant supports clerical duties and project-based work. Functions as a system navigator and point of contact for patients. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality.  Assumes patient advocate role to ensure timely approval of the necessary supplies/services. Cross-trained to broadly support medical front office operations. Experience in medical coding and billing is a plus.
McDonald Center for Student Well-being
The McDonald Center for Student Well-Being enhances student flourishing and embeds holistic well-being into every aspect of student life. The Staff Assistant will support the front office and receptionist needs of the space and support general business operations. 
Education and Experience
- One year certificate or training from college or technical school.
- 6 to 12 months experience in a office setting preferred. 
- Maintains high standards of patient and client confidentiality.
- Knowledge and experience working in an electronic scheduling and record keeping system as well as Microsoft Office and Google. 
- Ability to work independently, be well organized, and prioritize work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage callers who may be in distress.

Schedule: Up to 20 - 25 hours a week during the academic year primarily during business office hours, 8:00 - 5:00 p.m. and occasional evenings.
Hiring Pay Range: $20/Hour - $22/ Hour | Commensurate with experience.
