Description
MEMX is seeking a Data Center Operations Intern to support the infrastructure that powers our exchanges. You’ll work alongside our team to gain hands-on experience with server hardware, network equipment, and data center operations while learning how reliable technology supports financial markets. This internship position will be offered as hybrid with 1 day in person at our Data Center in North Bergen, NJ, and 2 days in person at our co-working office in Midtown-NYC.
Work Schedule
The intern will be expected to work the following schedule:
- Monday: 1:00pm – 10:00pm ET, in person at our North Bergen Data Center
- Tuesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm ET, remote
- Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm ET, in person at our co-working office in Midtown-NYC
- Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm ET, in person at our co-working office in Midtown-NYC
- Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm ET, remote
Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
*MEMX has currently approved ONLY the following states for remote work: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, & Utah.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with servers and network equipment under the team’s guidance
- Help run and organize cables within the data center
- Support equipment inventory and maintain accurate documentation
- Assist with routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
- Participate in infrastructure projects and learn how the team keeps our systems running reliably
Requirements
Current undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year, pursing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Interest in hardware, networking, and hands-on technology problem-solving
Basic familiarity with computer systems; coursework or personal projects involving Linux, networking, or hardware are a plus
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and willingness to learn
Ability to work in person at our Midtown Manhattan office during the summer
Permanent residence in one of MEMX’s approved states for remote work during the internship

Pay Rate: $30/hourly for undergraduate students
