About the role

EHRNursing
ABOUT LUMINAI Healthcare operations have always depended on people to bridge the gaps that technology couldn't. It relies on complex manual work to carry out critical internal processes, yet most health systems don’t have enough resources to properly automate these tasks, leaving them stuck in outdated, labor-intensive SOPs. Luminai structures the chaos, automates the manual handoffs, and deploys end-to-end workflows across every system, providing the integrated intelligence layer to improve processes over time. By delegating to autonomous AI systems those mission-critical workflows that previously expended valuable human time, Luminai allows doctors and administrators to do what they do best: Focus on Patients. We've raised $60M in funding, including our recent Series B led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), with participation from healthcare-focused Define Ventures and continued support from General Catalyst and Y Combinator. We're backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley, including Kevin Weil (Chief Product Officer at OpenAI), Arash Ferdowsi (co-founder of Dropbox), Katie Stanton (former VP Global Media, Twitter), and CEOs of companies such as Flexport, Notion, Front, Ramp, and Twitch. Our team is in-office 4 days a week (Monday - Friday, Wednesday optional WFH) in either San Francisco, California or New York, New York. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Health System Workflow Expert, you'll help Luminai's engineering team understand how work actually gets done inside health systems. You'll bring hands-on knowledge of hospital operations and Epic to shape how our AI learns and performs real workflows at enterprise customers, including major systems like Cleveland Clinic. The role calls for deep, practical workflow expertise and the ability to explain it clearly, including the edge cases, workarounds, and steps that never make it into an SOP. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Write realistic workflow scenarios based on how tasks are performed in health systems - Define what correct, complete work looks like for operational tasks such as scheduling, registration, referrals, prior authorization, and revenue cycle - Review how our AI handles these workflows and pinpoint where and why it falls short - Flag edge cases, exceptions, and system-specific variations that affect outcomes - Partner with our forward deployed engineers to answer workflow questions and pressure-test assumptions - Provide clear, structured written feedback on a consistent weekly cadence REQUIREMENTS - 3+ years of hands-on experience in one of the following: - Epic Systems: a customer-facing role such as implementation, application analyst, technical services, or training - A US health system: an Epic analyst, clinical informatics, patient access, scheduling, revenue cycle, or patient flow role - Healthcare consulting or clinical informatics: Epic or health IT consulting, or a nursing or clinical background with informatics experience - Detailed working knowledge of at least one operational or clinical workflow in Epic - Excellent written communication; able to break complex processes into clear, step-by-step detail - Meticulous attention to detail and comfort working independently - Availability for [X] hours per week NICE TO HAVE - Epic certification or credentialing in one or more modules (e.g. Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, Resolute, Referrals, ClinDoc) - Experience with an Epic go-live, conversion, or optimization project - Experience across multiple health systems or departments
