About Our Machinist Apprentice
Our company is growing! We are looking for someone to join our 2nd shift who has the drive and flexibility to support our machine shop. Experience is not required as Welker will pay you to learn how to be a machinist! In this role, attention to detail and precision will be crucial. If you have a keen eye for accuracy and are interested in learning new skills, this is the position for you!

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines based on workload demand; make necessary measurements to confirm parts conform to requirements
- Document and report all deviations and malfunctions; document and save all program changes and notations
- Continuously strive to learn new techniques and operate new machines
- Keep work area and machines clean and perform daily maintenance duties
These are some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during your workday, but you may be called upon to fulfill other duties as needed.
Key Skills
- Aptness for reading routers and drawings and following work instructions
- Capability for cross training and multitasking while delivering results within designated time parameters
- Self-motivated to learn and acquire the skills necessary to master the trade
- Able to balance workload and perform duties as needed

Qualifications
- Completed coursework and/or experience with machining is a plus; particularly a Hone machine
- Comfortable being on your feet for up to 95% of your day; safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- GED, high school diploma, or equivalent

This is a full-time, 2nd shift position with the occasional opportunity for overtime. Starting salary is within the posted range and is determined by experience, education, and potential.
