Join us in coloring a safe and sustainable future! This role offers a starting range of $73,000 to $77,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.  Hybrid work eligibility begins after the training period, which generally lasts 3 to 6 months based on learning pace and performance. As part of the accountant team for a chemical company, you will be responsible for: - Prepare financial statements for affiliates, including SAP journal entries, intercompany accounting, fixed asset accounting, and debt roll forward activities. - Compile and report financial information to the parent company through DIVA, including responding to analytical inquiries and requests. - Manage customer rebate programs, including accrual calculations, contract reviews, reserve analyses, settlement processing, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting guidance and internal controls. - Perform SAP REFX lease accounting and fixed asset activities, including day-to-day transaction support, month-end close responsibilities, audit support, and system enhancement initiatives. - Review monthly operating expenses, investigate variances and fluctuations, and prepare necessary reclassification entries. - Create and maintain recurring journal entries and support documentation. - Reconcile multiple domestic and foreign currency bank accounts and prepare required adjusting entries. - Prepare and record foreign currency transactions and valuations in SAP. - Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting, internal management reporting, and government survey requirements. - Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with JSOX, GAAP, and company policies. - Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned. To perform your job as expected, you will be required to: - Have an Accounting degree or higher educational experience - Demonstrate proficiency in general ledger functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable) - Have 3 years of General Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment - Pay strong attention to detail and have a high degree of accuracy, good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills - Proficiency in computer-based applications, including Microsoft Excel and Access - Seasonal overtime is required (quarterly reporting)In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have: - SAP experience - Public accounting experience We offer a competitive salary with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, pet insurance, HSA and FSA, 401(k), and more.
