About the role
Nursing
The dream of Hopewell Center began in the early 1950's when a group of parents sought services for their children and founded Peter Pan Preschool. The group incorporated in 1966 and officially adopted the name Hopewell Center in May 1983.
As a private, not-for-profit agency, Hopewell has experienced rapid growth in services, personnel, and persons served. While originally focusing exclusively on persons with disabilities, Hopewell has expanded its services to families with infants and toddlers that are 'at-risk' due to developmental or socio-economic factors.
Hopewell now has an array of facility and community-based opportunities, including family services, children's services, employment services, and residential services. Today, nearly 200 caring professionals provide person-centered services to over 500 individuals a year.
What You’ll Do
This RN position is specifically focused on supporting adults residing in Hopewell’s Group Homes, while also serving as a nursing resource for required Core A/Core B medication-administration training and oversight.
You’ll use your nursing experience to provide clinical oversight and support to our Group Home teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee medication administration and help ensure physician orders, medication records, and pharmacy information are accurate and followed appropriately.
- Provide Core A/Core B medication-administration training, staff education, competency support, and ongoing nursing guidance.
- Assess and monitor the health needs of individuals living in our Group Homes and provide clinical guidance related to illnesses, injuries, seizures, medication changes, and other changes in condition.
- Coordinate and communicate with physicians, pharmacies, healthcare providers, guardians, and Hopewell team members to help ensure continuity of care.
- Follow up on hospital visits, medical appointments, new orders, medication changes, and other significant healthcare needs.
- Partner with the Health Advocate, Group Home QIDP, Residential Services Director, and direct support teams to coordinate healthcare needs and provide RN-level support when needed.
- Maintain required nursing documentation, participate in interdisciplinary planning, and help identify opportunities to improve health, safety, and quality of care.
Schedule & Flexibility
This part-time position is approximately 20–25 hours per week with flexibility in how those hours are scheduled. Some onsite availability is required for medication reviews, staff training, nursing assessments, and other hands-on clinical needs. Some responsibilities may be completed remotely when appropriate.
The position may occasionally require evening or weekend availability and participation in an assigned on-call consultation schedule.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active, unrestricted Indiana RN license in good standing.
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to assess health concerns, interpret medical orders, document accurately, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to train, coach, and provide nursing guidance to non-licensed staff.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain any required credentials related to medication-administration training.
- Experience with residential services, HCBS, IDD, or medication oversight is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to travel between Hopewell locations as needed, with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record when driving is an assigned responsibility.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
