Project Background:
The Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate's mission is to improve homeland security by working with partners (department components, other government agencies, State, local, tribal, and territorial emergency responders and officials) to provide state-of-the-art solutions and/or technology that helps them achieve their missions.
Position Description:
This position administers travel authorizations and enforces compliance with travel policies throughout the process. This position will examine and process travel vouchers, verify travel expenses for accuracy and allow-ability under government travel regulations. This position will calculate appropriate reimbursement for lodging, meals, transportation and incidental expenses. This position will educate staff on travel policies and procedures to facilitate proper compliance and documentation.
Required Skills:
- US Citizenship required to obtain security clearance
- HS diploma; BS or BA preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience in financial operations and knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulation and government travel
- Experience with GSA Electronic Travel Services 2 (ETS2) and the associated travel and expense systems
