The Role We are seeking exceptional interns to join our Quantitative Research team in the Austin metro area. As an intern, you will work with other researchers and developers on various research projects, including the design of novel predictive signals and the enhancement of our algorithms for prediction, trade execution, portfolio construction, and risk management. You will have an opportunity to meaningfully contribute to multiple areas of our quantitative trading business.                                                                           What You’ll Do As a Quantitative Developer Intern, you will help develop and improve the software used in our quantitative research. You will gain insight into building scalable software, using parallel computing to train machine learning models and process large datasets.  You will have the opportunity to use AI tools to improve your productivity in coding and analysis. Over the 10-week internship program, you will collaborate with senior team members to learn what it takes to be a successful Quantitative Developer. Additionally, you’ll network and socialize with colleagues throughout the internship. What You Need - Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science (ideally with one academic year remaining after the internship) - Excellent programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, SQL, or R - Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and software frameworks - The ability to communicate research ideas clearly and succinctly - Creative problem-solving skills; experience working with production software is a plus - Strong attention to detail - Previous financial industry experience is a plus but it is not required Our Internship Kick-start your career in finance with the Schonfeld Summer Internship! Over the course of 10 action-packed weeks, you will have the opportunity to build solutions that tackle real-world challenges and leave a lasting impact on the firm. The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $175,000 and $220,000. Internship pay will be prorated based on the internship start and end dates. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
