At Relu, our software turns dental scans into designs for real dental appliances. The checks you build will help catch regressions before they reach dental labs and clinics. We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer to build reliable automated tests across our web platform, APIs, 3D tools and AI pipelines. You'll work with our engineers and dental experts to test the full workflow, from user interactions to the quality of the generated dental designs. You'll own our shared test automation and tooling, working with our engineers and our Technical Support & Quality Specialist on release checks and regressions reported by customers. In this role, you will: - Automate critical user journeys in our Vue/TypeScript web platform, prioritizing the workflows where failures have the biggest impact. - Build API and integration tests for our Python/FastAPI services and their connections to databases, scanners, printers and lab systems. - Keep tests useful in CI with reliable test data, clear failure reports, fast feedback and fewer flaky tests. - Turn recurring bugs into regression tests and pair with developers to make features easier to test. - Test our interactive 3D tools, including editing controls, visualization and model handling. - Build regression tests for our AI pipelines with our engineers and dental experts, using reference datasets, meaningful evaluation criteria and checks for changes in design quality and model behavior. Must-haves - 2+ years of experience in test automation, QA engineering or SDET roles, or equivalent practical experience - Hands-on experience automating UI and API tests using tools such as Playwright, Cypress or pytest; experience with every tool isn't required - Comfortable writing clean, maintainable code in Python or TypeScript, with a willingness to work in both - Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) and keeping them fast and stable - Good judgment about what to test and at which level, how to manage test data, and when to mock versus use real dependencies Nice-to-haves - Experience testing AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications, including evaluation datasets, quality criteria and regression detection - Experience comparing 3D geometry (meshes, point clouds) against reference outputs with tolerances, e.g. surface distances or deviation maps - Experience with visual regression or testing 3D/WebGL applications - Experience with performance and load testing (e.g. k6, Locust) - A background in medtech, dental or other regulated domains How you work - You’re curious and thoughtful. You enjoy working with people who challenge ideas, share what they know, and learn from each other. - You think independently. You look beyond the ticket, consider how your work fits into the bigger picture, and suggest better approaches when you see them. - You take ownership. Your teammates can count on you to follow through and care about the quality of what you deliver. - You communicate openly. You ask questions, share progress, and work with others to see things through. You know that good results are a team effort. Our Tech Stack = Your Tech Stack - Frontend: Vue.js, TypeScript, Three.js - Backend & APIs: Python, FastAPI - Data & Databases: PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy - Infrastructure & DevOps: AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes - Observability: Sentry, Grafana, Faro RUM - Integrations & Partners: 3Shape, iTero, Medit Link, Formlabs, and a growing list of scanner/printer/CAD-CAM APIs Practical Requirements / Eligibility - MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience - Fluent in English (written and spoken) - Valid work authorization in Belgium - Able to work from our Leuven office at least 3 days per week - A mission that matters: We’re transforming dental care to make high-quality dentistry accessible globally. - A fast-moving team that ships: A collaborative, ambitious team that executes at hyper-speed while keeping the day-to-day genuinely fun. - A dream workspace: A sunny office with stunning views over Leuven, park walks, and coffee by the Vaartkom. - A vibrant culture: Regular after-works, sports sessions, hackathons, and company retreats. - Uncapped growth: The opportunity to grow into broader roles as the company and you scale.
