The Group Sales Manager is a key member of The Knox’s pre-opening team, responsible for building a productive group sales pipeline and securing business ahead of opening. We seek an experienced, high-producing luxury hotel sales professional who thrives in a pre-opening environment, takes initiative amid evolving priorities and develops targeted relationships with accounts globally. This role capitalizes on The Knox’s distinctive design, service standards and Auberge positioning to attract the right group business, support premium rates and establish a strong foundation for long-term profitability.
- Prospect, qualify and secure group room business through targeted account development in assigned local, national and international markets to meet or exceed revenue and production goals.
- Lead pre-opening group sales efforts by building the sales pipeline, establishing targeted prospect lists and global account plans, securing business ahead of opening, and helping develop sales processes and materials while adapting to evolving pre-opening timelines and priorities.
- Translate The Knox’s design, service standards and Auberge positioning into compelling presentations and proposals that demonstrate value and support premium group rates.
- Develop strategic plans for high-potential global accounts through focused outreach to corporate decision-makers, luxury meeting planners and intermediary partners.
- Evaluate opportunities based on total revenue, room-to-space ratios and displacement to secure business that supports the hotel’s positioning and profitability.
- Respond promptly to inquiries; prepare tailored proposals, negotiate terms within approved guidelines, and execute accurate agreements.
- Conduct compelling site inspections and presentations that reflect the character and service standards of The Knox.
- Manage a disciplined sales pipeline, account plans, forecasts, and activity records in the property’s sales systems.
- Build lasting relationships with clients, intermediaries, and community partners; identify repeat and referral opportunities.
- Partner with Revenue, Catering, Reservations, and Operations on availability, pricing, room blocks, contract details, and a clear handoff of client expectations.
- At least three years of successful hotel group sales experience, with demonstrated production in luxury hospitality; hotel pre-opening experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding group revenue goals, acquiring new accounts and converting qualified opportunities into contracted business.
- Established network of productive client and intermediary relationships, with the ability to expand account reach into new markets.
- Strong knowledge of group booking practices, room blocks, sales systems, and hotel operations.
- Polished presentation, writing, organization, and relationship-building skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
