About the role

We are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation, controls, electrical components, and test equipment. You will work with a high degree of independence and autonomy in a hands-on technical environment. This role is ideal for a technician with experience working with instrumentation and controls in a plant, chemical process, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading and updating technical drawings, working with electrical systems, fabricating from concept drawings, and safely supporting test and lab operations. You will work primarily in a lab environment. Occasional travel may be required, generally no more than 15%. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our San Jose, CA office and report to the Manager, Control Systems. Primary Responsibilities - Install instrumentation, sensors, and associated hardware - Perform low-voltage DC and AC wiring - Commission and troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, and control systems - Support the procurement and specification of electrical components and hardware - Perform control panel wiring and modifications - Support work involving HVDC power converters operating above 1,000 VDC - Read and interpret industrial electrical drawings and schematics - Update drawings and create accurate as-built documentation - Fabricate and iterate hardware based on concept drawings and engineering direction - Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) - Identify hazards and follow appropriate safety practices while working in a lab environment Qualifications - Experience working with instrumentation and controls in a plant, chemical process, manufacturing, industrial, or similar technical environment - Strong understanding of industrial electrical drawings and schematics - Experience with low-voltage AC and DC wiring - Ability to update technical drawings and create as-built drawings - Ability to fabricate and modify hardware based on concept drawings - Working knowledge of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) - Experience commissioning and troubleshooting test equipment, instrumentation, or control systems - Experience with control panel wiring. Control panel design experience is a plus - Familiarity with electrical component and hardware specification and procurement - Ability to recognize electrical, mechanical, and operational hazards and work safely in a lab environment - Ability to work independently and manage hands-on technical responsibilities with limited supervision #LI-Hybrid Compensation and Benefits | S3 San Jose Zone $46.28—$62.61 USD Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​ Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package.
