Position Summary
The Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating special projects within the Education department, focusing on revenue generation through scholarship programs and micro-credential programming, while providing administrative support and data analytics to drive enrollment and student success. The position also manages and helps advise students in secondary and alternative certification programs.
Essential Job Duties
• Coordinate activities and maintain records for the Inspired to Teach Incentive Program through Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE), including semester degree verification checks for all applicants (200+ per semester).
• Coordinate and support additional programs developed by OSRHE and the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) that assist alternative certification, traditional, and other teacher pathway candidates.
• Coordinate and support ad hoc legislature driven state education scholarships, such as the Grow Your Own Educator Program initiative, etc.
• Serve as academic advisor of record for approximately 53 graduate, non-degree-seeking students enrolled across five distinct alternative pathways to teacher certification, including individualized plan development and ongoing advisement through program completion.
• Monitor Oklahoma teacher certification legislation and OSDE policy and guidance, including changes arising from state-level leadership transitions, and apply resulting changes accurately across all five alternative certification pathways.
• Assist and advise secondary education majors with program advisement.
• Maintain and develop micro-credential programs.
• Provide administrative support and data analytics for department initiatives.
• Plan and implement new processes, procedures, and projects.
• Respond to queries and correspondence from students, employees, and the public.
• Maintain and organize academic documents, files, and records.
• Participate in departmental committees, including Assessment and Accreditation.
• Host workshops and meetings for various educational programs, including workshops for secondary students
and alternative certification candidates.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Local Education Agencies (LEAs).
• Coordinate the certification process and recommendations for certification.
• Build and maintain partnerships with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) Certification Unit.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in higher education administration.
• Experience working with certification.
• Experience working with scholarship programs.

• Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Proficient in providing administrative support and maintaining detailed records.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to gather and analyze data for reporting purposes.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to conduct workshops and presentations.
• Knowledge of educational programs and certification processes.
• Knowledge of grant writing and management practices.
• Ability to track and interpret changes in Oklahoma teacher certification legislation and OSDE policy, and apply them across multiple certification pathways.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
Physical Demands
• Constantly required to remain in a seated position for extended periods

Work Environment
• The work is performed in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels from conversations and standard office equipment.
• Some in-state and occasional out-of-state travel required.
