The Document Control Clerk is responsible for inputting and processing drawing and document packages based on direction provided by the Project Management team into contract management and production control software. Other responsibilities include verifying work orders to guarantee completion and accuracy. This role requires a thorough understanding of the workflow in the production area and maintaining close communication with the Project Management team.
Minimum Starting Salary: $19.00 - depending on experience 
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:45am to 5:15pm & Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm           
 
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate the intake, processing, and system tracking of drawings and document packages based on direct parameters from the Project Management team.
- Audit work orders systematically to guarantee 100% data completion, alignment, and operational accuracy.
- Coordinate drawing approval workflows alongside Project Managers and the Document Control Supervisor, including processing contract pricing, submittal returns, and project closeout files.
- Manage the life cycle of structural steel documentation by storing, tracking, and indexing all active physical and digital blueprints.
- Execute precision data entry within the contract management database to map real-time asset locations and maintain clean audit trails.
- Integrate critical fabrication project data directly into the Tekla platform to safeguard downstream shop operations.
- Disseminate official drawing revisions and engineering changes across all affected structural steel departments to ensure immediate operational alignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional shop teams to streamline overall document flow, material distribution records, and secure archival retrieval.
- Support general administrative tasks and complete specialized document control projects as designated by management.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, as well as PDF review and editing software (Bluebeam, Adobe).
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to complete work and respond to messages promptly.
- Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with data entry with minimal errors.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Experience using Tekla EPM / EPM Go software is strongly preferred; however, it is not required as comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary predominantly operates within an office setting.
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 25-50 pounds.
