The Opportunity: Your Next Big Leap
You’re not looking to churn through tickets — you want to build systems that matter, at a meaningful scale, alongside a team that values strong engineering.
At Qover, you’ll help power embedded insurance experiences used by leading brands like Revolut, Mastercard, BMW, and Monzo. Our platform operates across 32 countries and supports millions of end users through our partners.
We’re entering our next phase of growth and investing in the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of our platform. We’re looking for engineers who care about clean architecture, pragmatic decision-making, and building software that lasts.
Your Impact: What You’ll Do
As a Site Reliability & Platform Engineer at Qover, you’ll play a key role in keeping our platform reliable, scalable, secure, and performant. You’ll combine software engineering and infrastructure expertise to improve how we build, deploy, and operate our services, with a strong focus on automation, observability, and developer experience. Here is a taste of what you will be working on:
Use AI thoughtfully — in engineering and operations: We encourage responsible use of AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, automation, troubleshooting, and documentation. You'll also have space to explore how emerging AI capabilities could meaningfully improve our infrastructure, operational processes, and developer experience.
Build and evolve scalable infrastructure: Design, automate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure supporting millions of users across 32 countries. You'll help ensure our platform can grow reliably while balancing performance, security, and cost.
Drive reliability, SLOs & observability: Define and evolve SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Build effective monitoring, alerting, and observability practices using metrics, logs, and distributed tracing, helping engineering teams understand and improve the reliability of their services.
Automate operations & elevate developer experience: Work closely with engineering teams to improve CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and shared platform tooling. You'll contribute to internal libraries and SDKs that simplify how services interact with infrastructure, reduce operational complexity, and make it easier and safer for teams to ship software.
Own production resilience & continuous improvement: Help lead incident response, troubleshoot complex production issues, and drive blameless postmortems and lasting improvements. You'll proactively identify risks, strengthen security and resilience, and help prevent recurring problems.
Contribute to a strong engineering culture: Through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring, you'll help raise the technical bar across the team.
Your Arsenal: The Skills You Bring
Strong professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or similar infrastructure-focused engineering roles (typically 3+ years).
Strong understanding of observability and production reliability, including monitoring, distributed tracing, incident response, and the practical application of SLIs and SLOs.
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and architecture, ideally on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with AWS or Azure is equally valuable if you're comfortable adapting.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar), with a focus on building reliable, maintainable infrastructure.
Strong programming fundamentals and the ability to navigate, understand, and contribute to production backend code. Familiarity with microservices, asynchronous messaging, data persistence, and distributed systems. We primarily use TypeScript, but value experience with other languages and the ability to adapt.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and improving the developer experience through tooling and self-service capabilities.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability. You take responsibility for the infrastructure and shared platform capabilities you build and maintain, while empowering engineering teams to own the reliability and operation of their services.
The Vibe: Who You Are
The Pragmatic Builder: You care about clean, readable code and details — and you know when to prioritize shipping and iteration.
The Adaptable Explorer: You’re comfortable in a scale-up environment: shifting priorities, ambiguity, and finding the highest-impact work.
The Communicator: You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, ask good questions, and collaborate well across functions.
The Fun Co-Worker: You’re constructive, kind, and collaborative. You enjoy sharing knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
Your Support System: What We Give You
Hybrid & remote-friendly: We welcome candidates across Europe. Our Brussels office is a key collaboration hub, and many team activities take place there, but we support flexible remote arrangements and up to one month per year working from anywhere globally.
A Hub When You Want It: Full access to our dedicated space at WeWork in Brussels (Rue du Commerce 31) for when you want collaborative whiteboard sessions or legendary team events on the terrace.
Exceptional Culture: A deeply collaborative, inclusive community where you are valued for exactly who you are, regardless of nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or background.
Massive Growth: You’ll join during a high-growth phase, with opportunities to shape our cloud infrastructure, platform reliability, engineering automation, and overall developer experience.
