Job Purpose:   The Kids Coordinator at Journey Church is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment for infants through pre-5th grade at their assigned campus.  This role oversees the weekend experience for Journey Kids, leads and cares for volunteer teams, and builds trust with families through consistent care and clear communication.  This role also oversees the Welcome Room. Key Responsibilities: - Champion the Vision and Culture of Journey Kids - Carry and model the vision, values, and culture of Journey Kids in every environment, ensuring the Kids experience reflects the mission of Journey Church. - Leads and Oversees the Kids Weekend Experience  - Ensure all classrooms rooms run with excellence, safety and age-appropriate engagement.  Oversee room prep, supplies, and the overall environment each week. - Lead and Oversee the Welcome Room Teams and Environment - Ensure the Welcome Room runs with excellence, safety, and a welcoming environment that is appropriate for families - Recruit, Onboard, and Develop Volunteer Leaders - Build a strong volunteer team by recruiting, training, and consistently developing leaders who serve effectively in Kids Curriculum and Welcome Room environments.  Facilitate onboarding and maintain clear workflows. - Care and Shepherd Volunteers - Invest in volunteers through regular 1-on-1 connects, quarterly meetings with coaches, and consistent communications.  Manage volunteer scheduling, send weekly communications, and facilitate ongoing trainings to keep leaders engaged and equipped.  Build a culture where leaders feel known, valued, and supported. - Manage Environments - Ensure all rooms are cleaned, organized, and prepped weekly.  Restock supplies, place curriculum provided by central team, and send monthly schedules to leaders in advance. - Build Trust and Partnership with Families - Serve as a consistent and caring presence for parents of young children. Communicate clearly, follow-up intentionally, and help families feel confident and welcomed in the Journey Kids environment. - Maintain Safe and Secure Environments - Ensure all safety protocols, check-in procedures, and child protection policies are consistently and carefully followed in classroom. - Collaborate with the Kids Team Next Gen Leadership - Attends all staff meetings, Kids team meetings, and debriefs.  Participate in Encounter prep and cross-team collaboration.  Contribute to content and creative projects as needed. - Support Key Events and Ministry Initiatives - Assist with camps, family events, holiday services, and other large-scale ministry moments that engage kids and their families. Additional Responsibilities: - Work with Kids team to ensure staff childcare needs are met at assigned campus - Collaborate with KidsCoordinators and Kids Director to create curriculum - Oversee the scheduling of all welcome team members for the Kids Lobby Qualifications / Experience:   - Multiple years’ experience in ministry or church vocational work is preferred - Experience in a multisite church - Experience in organizing multiple projects and events - Organized; flexible; able to Multitask - Exemplary oral & written skills Spiritual Attributes:  - Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior - Commitment to personal spiritual growth - Models standards and expectations of leaders within Journey Church - Aligns with Journey’s spiritual beliefs and staff values - Spiritually mature: models the lifestyle of a passionate follower of Jesus - Must attend Journey Church Supervisory Responsibilities : - This role is responsible for the supervision of the Kids Volunteer Team.
