Your Impact As a Journeyman Electrician - Critical Facilities Maintenance, you will play a vital role in supporting the reliability and operation of critical electrical infrastructure within a live, mission-critical data center environment. Working under the direction of the Electrical Foreperson, you will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, authorized corrective work, and electrical deployment activities that help ensure maximum uptime and operational excellence. This position supports equipment including substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, battery systems, transfer switches, and power distribution equipment. Core Responsibilities - Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and authorized corrective work on critical electrical infrastructure. - Execute work in accordance with approved work orders, MOPs, SOPs, OEM procedures, and site requirements. - Support maintenance activities on switchgear, transformers, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, battery systems, and power distribution equipment. - Perform inspections, equipment readings, testing, and documentation of system conditions and identified deficiencies. - Complete authorized low-voltage repairs, installations, circuit work, and precision power-whip routing. - Assist OEM providers, specialty crews, and supplemental maintenance teams during planned maintenance activities. - Identify abnormal equipment conditions and immediately escalate safety or reliability concerns. - Support incident response and equipment isolation activities when authorized and qualified. - Follow all Lockout/Tagout, arc-flash, electrical safety, and energy-control procedures. - Complete work orders, inspection records, service reports, and closeout documentation accurately and on time. - Participate in pre-job briefings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and work-package reviews. - Maintain professional communication with customers, supervisors, and supporting teams. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience - Four or more years of commercial, industrial, critical facility, or data center electrical experience. - Current Journeyman Electrician credential or equivalent qualification required by the applicable jurisdiction. - Experience working with medium- and low-voltage electrical systems. - Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, battery systems, and related power infrastructure. - Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures, arc-flash hazards, and electrical safety practices. - Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical drawings, technical documentation, SOPs, and MOPs. - Experience using electrical test equipment and accurately documenting readings and results. - Strong communication, troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills. - Experience with CMMS or work-order management systems preferred. - Data center, mission-critical facility, hospital, semiconductor, utility, or other high-availability facility experience strongly preferred. - OSHA, NFPA 70E, manufacturer, or other relevant technical and safety training preferred. Physical/Work Environment At Pearce, safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA standards and all site-specific safety requirements. - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry equipment up to 50 pounds. - Ability to work safely on ladders, elevated platforms, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). - Must be able to wear Arc Flash and NFPA 70E personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods. - Schedule may include day or night rotations, staggered shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call support, and off-hours maintenance windows based on site requirements. - May require travel to additional sites. Per diem is provided when traveling. - Work will be performed in a live, mission-critical data center environment where adherence to safety and operational procedures is essential. Compensation: $50.00-$65.00 hourly/DOE At Pearce, we are committed to fair and transparent pay practices. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
