ABOUT READ AI: At Read AI, we’re redefining how teams collaborate by bringing intelligence to every conversation. Our platform supercharges productivity across meetings, messages, and email—so work gets done faster, smarter, and with better focus. We integrate seamlessly with tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and more, helping teams stay aligned whether they’re in the same room or across time zones. Backed by $81 million in funding from Smash Capital, Madrona, and Goodwater Capital, Read AI is growing quickly. We're building a category-defining AI platform that sits at the center of how modern teams communicate. If you're excited by big markets, fast growth, and building something meaningful from the ground up, we'd love to meet you. THE ROLE: This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives on building from the ground up. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will own the strategy for how Read grows upmarket, translating organic product-led usage into broad enterprise adoption. You will also define what upmarket means for Read—identifying target industries and segments, and establishing the winning plays. If you've led a sales team and caught yourself wanting to get closer to the action without giving up leadership impact, this is that role. You'll carry deals, open new channels with resellers and technology partners, and bring what you learn straight to product. As the motion proves out, you'll build the team around it. WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Define and build the upmarket motion. Find accounts where Read is already spreading, test product-market fit by industry and segment, and turn what works into the playbook. - Hunt and close. Source net new opportunities and run complex deals end to end, through security review, procurement, and signature. - Experiment constantly. Test targeting, packaging, pricing, and plays. Keep the winners and cut the rest. - Open new channels. Stand up relationships with reseller and technology partners, and explore other forms of distribution. - Be the voice of the customer. Learn what our largest customers need and turn that into clear signal for product and engineering. - Shape where sales goes next. Directly influence how we sell, where we invest, and how we scale. Share what you learn upmarket so it lifts the whole team, and learn from what's working in other segments. - Build the team. When the motion is ready, hire and coach the people who will grow it. WHO YOU ARE: - An explorer. You're an early adopter who gets energy from uncharted territory. You see a gap and take it without waiting for permission or a perfect plan. - A learner by doing. You believe the best way to learn is to try. You jump in, fail fast, and get sharper with every attempt. - Bold. You make calls with incomplete information, own the outcome, and adjust fast. - Deeply curious. You follow where technology is heading, know the competitive landscape, and keep asking why until you understand the customer, the product, and the market. - Low ego, high grit. You care more about winning than being right. Deals stall and plays fail, and you keep going. - A true collaborator. You do your best work with others. You share what you learn, ask for input early, and make the people around you better, from fellow sales leaders to product, marketing, and customer success. - Ambitious. You want to run a sales organization one day and you see this role as the place to prove it. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: - 7+ years in B2B SaaS sales with a strong record closing upper mid-market and enterprise deals - 3+ years in a Sales Leadership position preferred - A track record of sourcing and closing net new business - Exposure to reseller, channel, or technology partnerships - Experience turning product-led or bottom-up adoption into larger agreements - A history of standing up new programs, or motions from scratch, ideally at an early or growth-stage company - Strong cross-functional instincts, especially with product, marketing, and customer success - Comfort selling to executives and working through IT, security, legal, and procurement WHY THIS ROLE: - Build something that lasts. The upmarket and partner motions you create become how Read grows. - Leadership impact, close to the action. Help set sales strategy while staying hands-on with customers. - Real influence on the product. Your customer insight shapes what we build next. - A clear path up. Prove the motion, build the team, and grow into a senior leadership role as Read scales. On-target earnings for this role range from $250,000 - $350,000, including base salary and performance-based commissions paid quarterly. Actual total compensation will depend on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. You'll be joining a collaborative, high-energy team in Seattle, in the office 3 - 4 days per week.
