ICON is seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and ongoing governance of company-wide BIM standards and digital design workflows. Working closely with the BIM Manager, the BIM Coordinator will help establish and maintain a scalable BIM environment across ICON’s design teams. The position will combine hands-on Revit support, standards development, model QA/QC, content management, project setup, documentation, training, and workflow improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong Revit user who understands not only how to model and document projects, but also how BIM standards, data, content, and project workflows should be structured and maintained across multiple teams. As an ICONIC, you will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor, driving design excellence, technical rigor, and program execution across multiple concurrent projects. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and reports to the BIM Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: BIM Standards & Implementation - Support development and implementation of ICON’s BIM standards and procedures. - Assist with development and maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) framework. - Support development of the Revit Standards Manual, Project Startup Guide, SOPs, and related BIM documentation. - Help establish and maintain naming conventions, workset standards, view standards, and project setup procedures. - Support implementation of BIM standards across new and existing projects. Revit Template & Data Standards - Assist with development, testing, and maintenance of the company Revit template. - Maintain and improve view templates, schedules, filters, browser organization, annotations, and other template components. - Support development and governance of shared parameters and BIM data standards. - Test template updates before company-wide deployment. - Document template changes and maintain version control. Content & Family Management - Audit, organize, and maintain the Revit family library. - Review families for modeling quality, performance, parameters, naming, and documentation requirements. - Develop and modify Revit families as needed. - Support implementation and management of the centralized content library. - Establish QA/QC procedures for new content before publication. Project Support & QA/QC - Own project startup configuration, establishing model structure, worksets, shared coordinates, and BIM setup in accordance with ICON standards. - Conduct periodic model health reviews to assess standards compliance, model performance, and data quality. - Identify and document issues related to model coordination, workset structure, view organization, and BIM data integrity. - Support model-based quantity and cost-data QA/QC workflows. - Troubleshoot Revit and BIM workflow issues escalated by project teams. - Partner with design teams to implement BIM standards and resolve issues without disrupting active project delivery. Training & Knowledge Management - Support development of BIM onboarding and new-hire training. - Create documentation, quick-reference guides, tutorials, and training materials. - Assist with BIM workshops and office hours. - Capture recurring project issues and solutions within ICON’s BIM knowledge base. - Work with BIM Champions to identify common issues and opportunities for improvement. Technology & Workflow Improvement - Identify repetitive BIM processes that can be standardized or automated. - Support development and testing of Dynamo, Python, or other automation workflows where appropriate. - Assist with interoperability workflows between Revit, Rhino, BuildOS, and other digital platforms. - Evaluate BIM tools, plugins, and workflows under the direction of the BIM Manager. - Participate in continuous BIM maturity and process-improvement initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - 3–5+ years of professional BIM/Revit experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related environment. - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working on AEC projects in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related environment. - Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit. - Strong understanding of Revit templates, families, shared parameters, schedules, view templates, worksets, and model management. - Experience supporting BIM standards and project setup. - Experience performing model QA/QC and troubleshooting Revit issues. - Understanding of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary model workflows. - Strong documentation and organizational skills. - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to designers with different levels of BIM experience. - Ability to work across multiple projects and teams while maintaining consistent standards. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - Experience developing or maintaining company-wide Revit standards. - Experience managing Revit family/content libraries. - Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). - Experience with Dynamo and/or Python automation. - Experience with Rhino/Revit interoperability. - Familiarity with model-based quantity workflows and BIM data management. - Experience developing BIM training or technical documentation. - Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans and BIM governance processes.
